aristocrat 1994 how to do a illegal coin out reset

Hi can anyone tell me how to do a illegal coin reset on a 1994 aristocrat caribbean gold machine serial # starts with eyo. Thanks

Assuming you have a MK5 try this:  unplug the hopper, see if there is a coin jammed in the middle of the hopper's optic sensor, plug the hopper in again, press couple times the white switch embedded in machine's cabinet (near the power switch).  Then close the door.

Your baby should be up & running at this point!

Hey thanks.  I pulled hopper cleaned and checked for any coin jams ect. But no white switch to reset. I tried to down load a couple of pictures of the inside. thanks for any help or suggestions.

Yours isn´t MK5 as I though...

If you find the switch and it doesn´t work, then you could try the hopper driver board (usually attached to the hopper itself in the back side)

Hello, I've got a couple of these machines. They are a Aristocrat microstar mk 2.5. When you get an illegal coin paid it means an extra coin has passed out of the hopper when a collect has been made. All thats needed is to open and then close the door, This is basically to allow the attendant to put the extra coin back into the hopper. Sometimes this will occur when there is a problem with the brake on the hopper or if the hopper has been modified in any way to accept smaller coins sometimes once more coins sneaks past.
I get the occasional illegal coin paid but I have modified my hopper to accept very small coins.

Thanks for all your help. I'll check out the hopper brake and look again for any coin jams. Is there any kind of reset to get the machine to respond to me as far as repeating the problem (message).   Thanks again

Hello, The security options built into the main program will always monitor coins in and coins out. These machines have to have this security in order to run. As far as I know there is no way to ignore any error settings.

Hi Thanks for all your help. No luck as of yet. In the area where the circuit boards are located theirs a row of red reset buttons at the top of this metal box,off to the left is a reset switch (which is triggered when the door is closed) the wires are cut to this switch. When I bought this machine the guy told me that the machine would not pay out coins. I only played this machine for a few hours during that time It did pay out a couple of times when the button was hit. Could this switch be my problem and need to be rewired somewhere. Thanks

Hello, Yes the switch not wired would definately be a problem.The machine needs this switch to be operational aswell as the door optics to be able to clear errors and reset the machine. I have taken some pics of where this switch needs to be wired to.

PIC 1 - This the switch in question, located right hand side.
PIC 2 - This is where the switch needs to be wired to. Bottom plug with 2 wires.It says door below it. Located right hand side at the back of machine. The top plug in this pic is for the door optical sensor and the other plugs with blue wires are for the jackpot reset and audit key.

PIC 3 - This is of the door optic to the right of the screen.
PIC 4 - Just a pic of my game room. I've sold most of these but have 2 Aristocrat machines left. I've got 6 more games boards I've just bought to restore some more machines.
I'm not sure why the door switch wires have been chopped but at least you have a starting point.
