This is what I want to do.

Place 2 displays behind the reel glass where normally the "Machine pays up to xxxxx ......" and "Play X ...." labels are located.
Programmable by USB or RS232 would be best.
The Fluorescent light will remain in place.

Suggestions?

I did that last year...on an S+.
Programmable by remote control...lol
Around that time, I also put a small light behind the "Payline" word on the
left hand side to brighten that area up a bit...>>>

Yes. Here is Bunker's original thread on this cool mod. I picked up one of the displays and added a few notes and pictures toward the end. Just before installing it some of the letters no longer displayed properly. Duh! I got a replacement, but have not gotten around to messing with it again.
