I have an s-2000 Triple Lucky 7s that only one top speaker works. Scratch Head The speaker is good ( switched wires then the other one works ). Is there a setting in the menu that would allow both speakers to work? I had gone into the menu but didn't see any settings for stereo. Scratch Head  I had switched the board in the top box that the 4 prong speaker plug goes into with another one same thing. Thanks in advance for any help! Help

3 Options
  2 Sound
    6 Multimedia
1 Audio Mode (3.2.6.1) change it to stereo

You have to have the multimedia board with a sound simm installed on the MPU or on the enhanced mpu board a sound simm installed on the legacy adapter.
Also look at your speaker/audio harnesses from mpu to top box to the Amp to the speakers make sure you do not have any broken or damaged wires.

If either of the two loop wires at the black connector are cut it can also cause issues.

Foster  Wires look to all be intact. I got to #3 options -  2 sound but did not see multimedia option. When you mention the multimedia board with a sound simm installed on the MPU or on the enhanced mpu board what am I looking for? Nerd My mpu board has no additional board plugged onto it. Are you saying that without the multimedia board sound will only be out of one speaker? Forgot to mention this is a new machine so I don't know if it ever has worked. Thanks

Sounds like do not have a Multimedia Lite 2 board installed and your MPU is a 501, 502, 504, 50x serires of MPU.

Let me try something pull my MMLB and see what happens to my sound (other than it sounding like a S+) it has been a while since I ran my S2000 without a MMLB installed during normal use.

Update:
Okay you have to have either the mono harness from top box to amp or have a MML2 board and sound simm installed to have sound out of both speakers.

wtf1 did they design that way.

You have 2 options
Buy a MMLB and the matching simm for your theme or DSV 42 sound simm and install it (This is your best option)
OR
Buy a mono harness or make your own

Foster  You are right no Multimedia Lite 2 board on the mpu. I also have a TDD that both top speakers work. It also doesn't have the Multimedia Lite 2 board. Scratch Head It may have something that the Lucky 7s doesn't? Not sure where to look from here. Would there be any harm in connecting the speakers together if no other options? That way there would be sound just not stereo.

Photo 1 orange circled area shows where the MM2 Lite would be installed.  Green circle shows the sockets where the MM2 Lite plugs in.

Photo 2 shows the MM2 lite board.  Orange circled area shows where the sound SIMM is installed.

Without either of these components installed, mono sound is all that you'll get.

Thanks,
Jason

Look at the 2 harnesses coming from the top box to the amp one is a stereo harness the other is a mono harness to make both speakers work (it splits the left output to both inputs of the amp.
Stereo harness is in the machine with only one speaker working the mono harness is in the machine with 2 speakers working

Stereo for machines with MMLB and Simm installed.
   ^ latch
X X X X   inputs to amp (white and green wires with green/blue/violet(purple) stripe
X X O O         output to tray speaker (yellow and white)

Mono harness (machines without MMLB)
     ^ latch
X X O O inputs
X X O O output to tray speaker

X - connectors
0 - open or empty

Picture of stereo harness connector machine end. The other end goes to amp

One of your machines has that one (sound only coming out of one speaker)
the other machine will have 2 white with blue stripe and 2 green with blue stripe combined into 2 pins
The yellow /white wires are for the tray speaker output.
That connector is at the left rear of top box.

Ok I see the difference in the wires. applause The machine with both speakers working is in the 1st pic. The one with one speaker working in the 2nd. So my question is short of buying the Multimedia board what do I have to do to get sound from both speakers? Would it be ok to tie the speaker wires together in the top box?  yes no

I don't see why splicing in the other speaker would make a problem. I have the same issue. But a MM2 Lite board is like 40-50 off Flea bay and the sound simm not much more. That might be the way to go. I am not happy with the sounds that my machine makes now anyway.

Wire the speakers in series and it will work ..  and it will not cause smoke.

In other words ..

Since I am not sure the the color of the strip in the white and green wires .. I am just going to call it them the white and green wire.

Cut the white wire on working speaker.

Cut both wires on the none working speaker.

Connect the working white wire from the working speaker to the green wire of the none working speaker.

The white wire from the none working speaker connects to the white wire that was cut from the working speaker.

The image shows a crude drawing.

K+ for the explanation and diagram, Ken.  I need to do that with a machine I'm planning to sell.

That is how the old vision mono wiring was done.
For s2000 with amp  they split the A channel from the machine so it goes to both A And B inputs on the amp.
I do not know if the amp can handle a increase in impedance I know they do not like a decrease in impedance.

Thanks K .. I would do the splicing before the connectors on the amp side.

Sorry for such a crude drawing .. Where is Bunker when you need him?

YW erbs .. glad it worked for you.
