Hi I started my new game install double3x4x5x
I installed my sb chips and two stepper chips. But vfd would show anything at power up.
My two stepper chips were not numbered#1 or 2 dose it matter what location they go right or left side. The other question is do i need to remove the chip name vso11gx1 as that chip was sent with the last game i had installed,so i have a funny feeling that's the problem.Or am i missing something else?
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT.

Your SG chips are installed in the wrong positions.  Swap U19 with U46, follow the VFD directions, and you should be good to go after that.

Also it looks like you have some corrosion starting on one side of your green nicad battery.  You may want to remove it and toss it in the trash before it damages your board.

Well I never tried them with a 3-reel game, I guess they work like you said.  But commonly the 597's are for any 5-reel game with a bonus spins and the 598's are for any 5-reel game with no bonus.  They are considered desirable for those games because they have a fast credit roll up.  Do you notice anything when it counts up the win after a spin?

598's will work in a 3 reel. so will VS011GX1

Tilt    Is right, the game chips are insstalled in the wrong socket. Look at your pic. The chip in U 19 socket is labeled 2 of 2  that is gm 2 chip. VS011GX1 will work fine.
