I have swapped from a super stars spin to a big times pay, both 4 reel machines. Changed my SB and am using SG chips 000362 and version chip VS011GX1. Went through all of my key chip configs, set it up for multi denom (which may be the problem) it would not let me enable my printer, I would enable it then press max bet, but it would not save it as enabled. When I was finished, I pressed max bet until the game reset and now it says "please select WAMM or IPC" Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Thanks,

David

Key the machine.  Go under the the Wamm / IPC settings and select Wamm

Did it used to work prior to the changes?
Which clear/key chips did you use?
You enabled the printer from the Keychip II config menu?
Go to your menu and under I/O config, check for Netplex autoconfig (or autodetect), and run it.  See if it detects your printer.

Thanks,

I used a key 31 chip and yes the printer did work on the previous game kit that was installed in this machine. When I got to the enable printer part, I would enable it then press max bet, but it would not save it as enabled, just went back to disabled. I got the machine going now but for some reason the multi denom is not working. I did enable player 1,2,3,and 4 for .25. 1.00, 5.00, 10.00. But it will only recognize .25 mode.

Hmmm...something went wacky...almost as if the clear didn't fully clear everything.  Bob at Samron's taught me a little trick and that's to run the clear process 3-4 times to make sure that EVERYTHING is blown out.  When changing games I have seen this happen before.  Turn the game on with the clear chip installed, wait for the two orange lights on the MPU to come on, then power off.  Wait 10 seconds, turn it back on, and repeat the process 3 or 4 times.

Give it a shot.

I always do that for the same reason that you stated, anything else it could be?

Not that I can think of, but if your denoms didn't stick either, those have to be set during the clear process anyway, so you may as well give it another shot.  Check your board connections too (bent pins, etc).  Check that your newly installed chips are fully seated as well.

If you are using 362 game chips change them to 363 and you will not have to worry about WAMM or IPC again.
363 are set up for WAMM

HIDE THAT CLEAR CHiP!

There is not reason to clear a machine after a game change, unless you get an error that will not clear otherwise.
I have not had to clear a game just because I did a game change.
I have experimented with different game chips along the way, not once did I use a clear chip except to fix a mistake I made with the accounting denomination.
That is the only time I had to do so.

Also unless the Base chip requires a different set of game chips stick to 363 or such game chips.
I have never even had to use the key chip when changing games either with the 363 game chips.
just redo sound and use PSP to adjust the progressive values in the Cham II+
