I need to make minor repair to the end of some backlit reel strips
They are separating at the exposed end of the strip (top)
I wonder which adhesive would do the repair and not create more damage.

I use super glue.  Just spread enough where the 2 pieces come together and place the front of the strip on some wax paper then apply pressure for a few seconds squeezing the 2 pieces back together.  Works for me every time and it's permanent.  For larger repairs I spread some additional glue on the strip portion that is separated too.

I've used clear nail polish on slot glass that has had the back delaminating. It flows into the crevises and can be cleaned off if it gets on the wrong place before it dries. IMO Super glue is risky as it can make a mess of things quickly. I suppose it might depend on if it's a visible spot or not.

I have been using super glue for years and never made a mess of my strips.  I have also used the same 2 sided (3M #465) high tack tape for straight separations where it can be inserted and trimmed off easily.

I think the point is that it's a lot less forgiving of mistakes or drips. Super glue is like caulk - it tend to gets everywhere except where you want it.  arrow

True, it needs to be applied carefully........ but my point is that if you know how to use it you won't have any problems with it.  But if you are the type of person who has nothing but 5 thumbs on each hand, stay away from it. bust gut laughing bust gut laughing

Thanks folks

If I could figure out how to change color on 2 symbols from yellow to a orange.
Then my Tabasco strips will be perfect.

I just tried the Clear finger nail polish. Great idea for reel strip ends.
It's a lot easier to apply than Super Glue & no mess.
