Too good to be true

So I spot this on CL and called the guy right after it was listed. We set up a time to pick it up this evening. No sooner do I get the trailer hooked up to the truck and I get a call back that he has all kinds of people calling and the latest offer is $90. I was not going to get into a bidding war as I only wanted this for parts. The guy did apologize, but what can you do?

That's too bad.  I did get a $50 S+ off of Craigslist -- right place, right time for me -- I just happened to be looking a couple of minutes after he posted it.  He told me that he got about 50 e-mails in just a few hours, but that I was first and could have it for $50 if I wanted it.

I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand I'm irritated that he didn't honor the listed and agreed price. OTOH, I really didn't 'need' it. And I actually should be getting rid of some stuff I don't use. But you know how it goes, you see a good deal and it's hard to turn the other way.   Oh, and the first thing I said when I called was 'I assume this does not work'. But he said it did work except for the BV which did work at one time.

I know what you mean by not being able yo pass a deal. I don't need more but I keep getting more.
