The Bill Validator on my Reel Touch does not light up.

If you open the door and look at the back of the Bezel it has a small LED board that should light up the front where it says insert bills

There is a harness plugged into the board but I dont know where the other end goes or if its connected to anything.

Any help????

Thanks much

That looks like a JCM Sentry Bezel, if it was on but malfunctioning the lower symbols have an "ambulance" icon; that indicates that the bezel or BV is malfunctioning but in this case you have nada! You might have to see physically where that wire goes and find out if it's unplugged somewhere or not, basic troubleshooting I know, but a first step. BTW, that bezel is a really hot item, it indicates what denomination bill was inserted in the BV.

I just spent an hour trying to figure out where the other end on the wire to the bezel goes and now I have another problem.

I shut the machine down and took the 5 reel assembly's out to get a better look at the wiring and when I put them back in and turned the machine on

I am getting a reel 3 tilt message and the 5 reels just spin slowly and it says call attendant.

I tried reseating the 5 reels but no luck.

I have had these reels out many times before to change strips with no problems but now what could I have done???

Ok, with the door open, turn the jackpot reset key once, that should clear the "Reel M" error

Pictures of Entry Bezel(lamp version) with WBA Sentry
the first picture is of the bezel I am pointing to the Sentry board near the right edge is small connector you can see the small wires near the board.
closer in the picture is the Lamp board see the black connector at the right edge (sort of upper right in the picture
Your machine may have a LED board in place of of the lamp board (the one closest in the picture)

The BV has 4 connectors coming from it
2 pin for power from machine, red and black wires.
3 pin unused on mine
4 pin with 2 wires (black and white wires)
5 pin Netplex (machine interface)

Machine has 3 connectors
2 pin power red and black wires.
4 pin but only with 2 wires activates the Bill Validator Bezel lamp or LED board on door (not the Sentry display you have in the bezel.
Yellow with black and black with yellow wires
5 pin 5 green wires with different stripes (red, black, brown, orange, blue) machine interface.

Sentry harness at the bezel it has a small white connector
At the BV end it has 4 connectors it will have either black or other color shrink tubing over it.
Male and female 2 pin connectors taps the 13 V power to the BV to power the Sentry.
Male and female 5 pin connectors this plugs between the BV and machine interface 2 wires go to the Sentry the other 3 go to BV.

does the BV work?

They must have plumbers in Texas, I would think with all the BS coming from the residents of Texas a plumber would be in HIGH demand.  stir the pot / get cooking stir the pot / get cooking stir the pot / get cooking stir the pot / get cooking

I better go to bed, the NLG cops are going to get me again.

Rick  In a nut shell the wires go below the play buttons and into the machine next to the hinge. About a foot or so inside the machine ( behind and below #1 reel,) the wires plug into another plug that's just hanging out in the air. All of them I have had, it's been a real small black plug.

I forgot about that one.
Thanks

The wires are yellow/black and black/yellow
There is white molex 2 pin connector near it
Leave that white molex alone or you will be wondering why your machine shows the door is open when it is closed.

Thanks for all the reply's.

Anyway the BV works fine and the machine is working.

The problem is the Green Bezel does NOT light up and neither do any of the symbols on the front of the BV.

Have you checked the power wires going to that bezel with a meter? Maybe it's just a bad bezel?

I decided to check the obvious things and took the board out to check the bulbs.

Both bulbs are bad.

What number are these bulbs and where can I get some????

Below are pictures of the board in question.

I checked for voltage on the wires and the Red wire has 12-13 volts on it to ground or the black wire.

So I guess I need bulbs.  Also this does not solve the issue with the digital display not working.

Thanks Much

Captain Hook

So you have voltage going to the digital display? Your bad bulbs are #73's
