Hello Everyone,

Well now that we have the video issue fixed, on to the next issue. See http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=1262.0 for more details

Once again we're working with an 1989 IGT Player Edge PE Plus.

Serial Number: 180172
Model Number: B1075D
DESCP: PE +
Date: 05/89

When I press the "Change" button nothing happens, but if I press the "Bet One" button, the change light on top lights up.

Next, when playing the machine, and I have credits showing, and I press the "Cash Out" nothing happens. To add to this, when playing and you win a hand. The machine just adds the winnings to the total credits showing on the screen. Not sure if this is something that needs to be configured or not??

I've attached a close up of the wiring of the three switches.

Once again, thanks in advance.

Mike

Did everything work OK when you picked this machine up?
Did these problems only start after you fixed the monitor?
When you were chasing that problem with the monitor and you had the backplane out. Did you replace the connectors in the correct spot?
I'm not real familiar with your particular machine. They may have made it foolproof where you can't hook them up wrong. Not all machines did this.

Swap the bet one wires with the change light wires...somebody had them hooked up backwards....but before you do that...check the other switches wiring hook up (I think the others are okay and in the right spot)
You will see one wire , really , that needs to swap with the other switch wire.

ADD>>> buttons are simple really...2 wires are ground and 2 are "live".
One live wire is for the light bulb, while the other is for the switch.
The "ground" wires will follow each switch down the line, and be the same color.
The "live" wires for each switch will be different colors.

You see the bulb hanging out there? Needs to go in the switch hole with a 1/4 turn to lock in.

I have a PE+ at home. When I hit the change button, the girl never shows up and you would think she would come around with the drinks once and a while......  rotflmao

Isn't there input diagnostic screen where you can verify proper button functionality in these games, there is on the S+, so there should be there in the PE+.  That way you can test all buttons.

Stay,

I have attached another picture marking the switches. I've also marked a switch with #1, #2 and #3 as a reference to position for this discussion.

I also marked what I'm guessing to be the ground wires. Are my markings all correct?

What is the correct terminal for all the ground wires, and are all three switches grounded at the same position?

P.S. The light and how to get them in the sockets I'm good with. I just removed them for a better picture of the wirering.

Thanks again for all the help.

Mike

okay,
The grey/brown is ground and should be on positon(3) for all switches.
The blue/green would be ground also but for light bulbs and should be on any 2 bulb contacts.
The yellows w various secondary color stripes should be on position (1) on the switches.
Hope this helps ya.
Swap the yellows on "bet one" and "change" switch.

I know for a fact that there is a switch test in the PE+.  Press the white menu/test button and navigate to the switch test menu.  Then, you can see what buttons are registering when you press each button, and make changes accordingly.  As was suggested earlier, make sure that all of the harnesses got plugged back in to their correct places on the backplane and motherboard.
