Happiness in life is a great dog

« on: May 18, 2011, 11:38:39 PM »

Hi All, can anyone tell me if the ticket printers use a standard 50 pin IDE cable. I got a slot the other day and the cable's missing. Also, this is the one the has the insert that clips in the top to hold the paper and it's missing. So if anyone has one of those floating around would they grab it out of the air and see what the price is on it yes Thanks for the help

Hi Ford, I'm not sure of the model because there's no sticker, but 2 rows of 25 pins is what I count. Looks like the same cable they use inside computer towers for connections on HD, disk drives back to motherboard. I'm waiting for Radio Shack to open so I can go swipe one and try it. Not REALLY swipe it of course, but my wifes sister owns the store so maybe "creatively aquire" is a better term rotflmao

I just looked at mine, it looks like it is a special cable. The old IDE cables were 40 pin and the ones for the floppy drive (old) were smaller BUT had a twist in one of the pairs to work with the floppy. It probably won't work with the printer because of that. You need that actual cable and I don't think RS will have it, maybe one of the vendors on here would. Just an observation.

Thanks Reho, Bob at Samron thinks he has the cable if I need it. Seems like there was a 50 pin SCSI cable out for awhile, but I don't remember what type of plugs it had

SCSI has 4or 5 styles of cable one is a 50 pin  used for internal connections (inside computer case or drive case)  with IDE type connectors

I haven't yet Ford, it's my weekend with my daughter so I haven't had time to play with it much. Hoping to get to it tonight after I take her home.
