Lotta good memories for me tied around Van Halen.  I liked Dave and Sam, but I've gotta go with the David Lee Roth days.  Just liked their sound better.

Any other VH fans out here?

One of my favorite songs that DLR put out after he left VH.  One of those songs that just reminds me of hoisting a beer with the fellas and talking about whatever.

I've seen VAN HALEN with David Lee Roth and I've seen VAN HALEN with Sammy Hager.  I liked them both, but if I had to choose I would pick David lee Roth.

They were great with David Lee, they were great with Sammy. i guess the nod would have to go to Roth, as he was the singer that defined their sound when they hit the big time.

Both had their issues with the VH brothers, too many big egos in too small a space to reach compromises. The aborted reconciliation in 2003 with Hagar was doomed due to Eddie and the booze, but that's the life of a rock and roll star... the last time I saw DLR was at the Grand Prix, he was headlining with a bluegrass band. Definitely a fall from on high for him.

I'm waiting to see VH with Roth again if they ever come around, but I've seen Chickenfoot and Sammy with Mike Anthony a few times in the past few years, and those guys know how to raise the roof without Eddie and Alex. They come pretty much every year to Shoreline and pack the house, definitely the best show of the year when they come around.

We used to play that song just to screw around in-between rehearsing our own songs during practice, although we only played our own original material at concerts. (I was in a rock band in the 80s.) My MemoryMoog had a patch that matched that keyboard sound perfectly.  Tongue Out

Ah, memories. Tongue Out

The drummer and I were also fond of playing parts of the tune, "I'm Freaking Out" by the Dixie Dregs and stuff from U.K.'s "Danger Money" album. propeller  ...but only during rehearsals. rotflmao rotflmao
