I was playing my machine last night and it just stopped and the display showed system error, then call attendant. What would cause this to happen? This is a Triple Diamond Deluxe machine that I have had for @ 4 months and it has never given me any trouble before. When I open the door, all of my lights on my main board are on, but the red light is blinking. Sometimes it will go into the "call attendant" display.

What LED lamps are lit up on the MPU cage?
Describe if they are on steady or blinking.

UUnplug your IO cards and restart it. See if it comes up with a different error code. If it does then plug IO cards in one at a time, restarting after each till original error comes back. Might just be a bad MPH also

IF you open the door and note what is on the VFD
turn jp key reading the vfd after each turn of the jp key
and post the information here we might be able to determine the best actions to take.
it could be corrupt data or a bad RAM, EEPROM, base, game, or version chip.
if you are getting the system error that means at least the game (GME 1 and 2 chips are functioning)

If you don't get anywhere, try a clear/key procedure.

A clear and key are not recommended except as a last resort.

Also try just removing and re installing the MPU

"MPH" ...hmm... Scratch Head 3 are you purposefully missing that "U" key on your keyboard?  rotflmao

Yes...502 or 504 (By the way...these are usually printed on MPU boards)
I agree with the Aussie beer fella....with the "POWER OFF"  physically (means using your hands)
un-plug and re-plug connectors of all sorts of various shapes and sizes...
you'd be totally freakin' amazed at what wonders that can do for your machine!

That may be an okay term to use as well as really an MPU is also made out of composite materials
very similar to the more modern home patio decking building materials!  arrow
However, I'm not quite certain that wood was involved
in the making of these particular circuit boards... knockout
