My machine, after a denom set, will not take a 1, old 5, 10, 20, 50 or 100 dollar bills. Strange though, it will accept a newer 5 dollar bill, but not the type with red ink? Any wat to correct this? All of my dip switches are set to off and the bv has been cleaned with a q-tip and the belts have been cleaned as well. I have my denom set at .25 if that matters.

Thanks,

David

I could be wrong.

That's fine with the 5 dollar bills, but why will it not take any other bills?

The way I understand it is that there's not enough room on these chips
to hold all the...let's call it the "bills acceptance pictures" for both the old and new bills.
So, some chips will allow the DBV's to take this or that...

I think there may be some misunderstanding. On some BVs they sacrificed some of the older bills to make room for the newer ones. However you said it will not take $1s. So that is a clue that something is wrong.

What model BV is it?

Also, while it should not affect the smaller bills, check your credit limit settings. If an inserted bill will put you over the limit, it will spit it back out.

I have all of my limits set correct, according to a thread on this site. The model # is: DBV 200-B023, 12v. Japan Cash Machine Co, LTD.

It has worked before with all bills, but every since I changed the glass/reel kit, it has never been the same. I have done a proper clear and set denom on it and all other functions are fine.

Can you try it in another machine? What did you use to clean the BV? Alcohol and such cleaners can cloud the BV optics.

All of my other machines are S2000 and take a different type of bv. I cleaned it with a q-tip and water only.

Have you tried inserting the bills in all 4 directions? That may help to see if it's a calibration issue.

Is it giving you the proper number of credits (20) when it does accept a $5 bill?

Did you try a $1 all four ways? Filp the dip switches back and forth a few times in case some are stuck. If that doesn't work, it may be time for a new BV head.

While there are no settings other than the dip switches that would make it take a $5 but not a $1, the odds are the head is bad. However, since you don't have a spare, this might be one of the rare times to try a clear (if you have a clear and set chip). While it's doubtful it would fix the problem, it might be worth a try rather than getting another head only to have it do the same thing.

I've already done the clear and the set so I'm with you, it probably is the bv head.

You said that the problem started when you changed themes.  While I've never seen the wrong ID in the BV Make it only accept 5s, I have ween it make it only accept ones.  It may be that you converted from a game that used ID022 to a game that uses ID023 or vice versa.  They are the same software in the DBV-200, but use a different dip switch setting.

Can try flipping dip switch 10 and see what happens. Can't hurt at this point.

Thanks for posting which dip switch.  I couldn't remember which one it was.
