I want to be there!  I even got an unbelieveable room offer for there for January, but I don't think I'll be able to make it out there.  Sad

If you go to the encore website they have the new commercial available for viewing as well as the "how did they do it" commercial with WYNN climbing onto the top of the building.

The sign is  kind of paltry for a twenty-first century strip hotel casino.. Maybe they were over the hotel's construction budget and were forced to build the sign at half scale and stop installing light bulbs before it was completed.  arrow Weird Eyes    ...or maybe Steve Wynn just wanted to keep a low profile.  ttth bust gut laughing bust gut laughing bust gut laughing

Wynn interviews on local LV television.  Its interesting to listen to the 15 min one and to hear his passion of hospitality and service.

With todays technology they should be able to turn the whole side of the building into one large display.
I still like the look of downtown vegas.

Yes, I agree..."Encore's" sign is pretty cheap looking....but I must say...
after watching that video of Wynn...he's a very engaging fellow.
Makes one want to ask him more questions just to see what he says.

Based on some of the names he is using from the Rat-Pack era and his emphasis on Service, my guess about the simple, glitz free sign would be that he is trying to recreate a bit of old time Vegas style. Back when the Mob ran Vegas, the Hotel Casino operators treated their customers with respect and high quality customer service. Now most venues treat there customers like cattle; They herd you in, milk you dry and they could care less about treating you like you were someone important. With such large volumes of people, all willing to donate there money without any prodding, I guess they feel that customer service is no longer a big deal anymore.
I think if the idea of Encore is bringing back a little slice of how it use to be in Vegas, Steve is going to have a real winner on his hands!

Good Point! I hope you and he are right. propeller

I'll take great customer service and generous comps over a good sign any day of the week.

You'll get half of that.  Service at Wynn Las Vegas is great, but comps are far from generous!  That said, I have gotten a bunch of good marketing offers from Wynn and now Encore, but their play requirements for comps are very, VERY high.

Steve held a really nice G2E welcome event in 2006.
I like him, his casinos, I hear his dealers make close to 100K a year including tips.

Comps are nice but as a table player they are very few and far between due to the low house edge compared to slots.

Lots of inside blury (not mine) photos...

As a weird part there are NO Encore chips or cards.  They use Wynn items.  Also NO Buffet!

It would be tough to top the Wynn buffet.  Man, oh, man, that's good stuff!
