I know it is not the optics because the bypass is not working either.
I am suspecting a bad connection, wire,  motherboard, etc else.
When I tried the optic test with the MPU that was in the machine it went to 1 but would not alternate between 1 and 0 like it does normally.
I have not turned the machine back on to see if the problem magically cured itself
I can not do any I/O tests via the firmware until get past the RAM Error.
I think I am going to carefully remove wire ties so I can separate the various harnesses and examine them.
I hope it is not the Power Supply since I get proper lights from MPU and machine boots to the point where I have to clear the RAM error with JP key, attendant button and closing the main door - which it does not see closing.

Foster  I have a enhanced S2000  and the bypass method as you sent me did not work on my enhanced machine. i had to get the optics to work to clear the error . touching the door to the cabnet optics (BRASS TO BRASS) outside fitting of the optics. made the machine clear the door closed error

I had the bypass working, but I was doing some stuff with the BV and the machine started not seeing the door closed

I am in the process of swapping the motherboard so I can put a 504B in the machine.
IF it works then the problem is with the enhanced MPU's or the enhanced motherboard.

I found the problem
One of the Cash Box Door wires was shorted to ground.
I do not know which one.
Problem went away when I removed the inner Chassis of the WBA.
Now to put my Ehhanced stuff back in
Oh I found out whom ever assembles the optics does not solder them

This is a common problem we have with the enhanced CPU's.

Once it was the backplane and as you noted grounds shorted

It actaully had nothing to do with the Enhanced MPU, motherboard at all
it was the pinched wire going to the BV cash box door.
I had removed and re-installed the BV inside chassis a couple times wed night.

agreed, we have been seeing more optic issues on the enhanced over the non.

One issue was the backplane, other was a grounding issue like you had.

It took the information displayed on the VFD by 504B that made it clear what was going on.
