Can such connection be possible? I have the service manual for the bally alpha for set up and operation. But I'm missing the progressive options for setting the machine. does anyone have info for this task?

Hi There

Have not done it before but found this in my manual collection.
Let us know how it goes - Looks like Alpha's are starting to become available for the home market and more members may be needing this info soon.

I know Alphas are just now trickling in, but I have a question. I have an Alpha Mystic Lamp and I finally got a ram clear for it. It was set at .01 denomination.
Does anyone know what this error message means ( validation not set )
According to the manual, you can set the printer as PREFERRED OUTPUT DEVICE. My ram clear however doesn't allow me this selection.
Is this a jurisdictional thing? Me thinks I got the wrong ram clear.......

You must have a jurisdictional issue... since validation type should be standard.. some jurisdictions have only system or enhance validation... hope you have one allowing to set it as I mention before in the comm options field.

The last attempt I made, I enabled every cash out option available, still wont work. Need to be able to select the printer directly.
Anyway, I searched thru my manual a bit and found some sections on the bally progressive..... feel free to look.

Been at for 2 days straight and am no closer than the first time.
For the IGT machines we are told to stay out of the SAS settings, now with the Alpha, you must be a SAS expert......LOL
I can get all kinds of error messages now that I'm playing with mySAS!

OK, I've been at this for 2 days and I am stopping here. If I choose a selection in here and I'm wrong, I have to start all over again. Anyone with any idea which selection I choose?
Once I choose a selection, there's no starting over.

Jim

Have a look at the doc I posted in this thread - http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=11885.0. This is for WMS but as you will see the menu stuctures and selection are pretty similar.

Well, that's a relief. Alpha back up and running super!

I wrote down all my settings before I screwed with the COMM settings. After only 2 tries, I GOT IT. Once you make a selection and save it, if it isn't right you have to do a Ram Clear again, so writing my settings down as I did them did the trick.

Settings that got rid of my Validation error message......

Serial Comm Setup

HOST COMM 1                     SAS PRIMARY
HOST COMM II                    NONE
SDG PROTOCOL                   DISABLED
PROGRESSIVE TYPE             NONE IN MY CASE

Dual Host Setup

AFT                                      DISABLED
CERTIFICATE OUT                 OFF
LEGACY BONUSING                OFF
MACHINE CONTROL               SASA PRIMARY
VOUCHER IN/COUPON IN       DISABLED
VOUCHER OUT                      SAS PRIMARY

Now I can get some sleep!  zzzzzzz

slotsx2  +1 (Karma, or whatever) for all the hard work you put into figuring out these settings. applause applause

Hopefully, they'll be of benefit to other members as more Alphas hit the private sector.

Congartulations!!!  applause if you need to set any progressive options please set the multidenom option disable and just place one denomination in the paytable selection ... if you want to set an internal progressive as a stand alone unit please send me the game version and I'll  let you know if the game can run it... By the way... if you experience a new error " handpay validation queue full" let me know... I have this errors in some bally alphas after a certain period of time...
