Slot mistakenly reported multi-million dollar hit when in reality all that was won was 12 dollars:

The only problem is the story does not say just what happened. How can a slot 'mistakenly' pay out too much unless it had the denomination set wrong (since they are blaming a technician).  Scratch Head

I am thinking it was a linked progressive and whoever programmed it did not do the settings correctly. I think the patron should at least challenge it and if ya lose , ya lose.

PCGB never did me any favors................I think the most heavily fined casino is Presque Isle, underage drinking, underage (allegedly) payoffs to minors, moving slots without permission, etc. may not be long before they are closed or reorganized.

Slot mistakenly reported multi-million dollar hit when in reality all that was won was 12 dollars:

I couldn't watch the video at work, but every other (vague) report I've seen said that the slot indicated a $25,000 win, and the casino was forced by the gaming commission to pay it to the player.

Sometimes I think if a casino is being cheap they might even consider not paying a legit jackpot. The do reserve the right to say the machine did malfunction. But the GC and the casino ( and sometimes the lab) would all have to collude to not pay and consider it a malfunction. Not saying it would happen but lets say you thought you won millions, they could declare a malfunction and the lab could give supporting evidence of that malfunction. Unless you could get the machine to your own independent lab you are out of luck.

By the way, the original video commenter was wrong when he stated that $25k represented "an increase of, get this: 2,083 percent" of the proper $12 payout. It represents 208,333 percent of the original payout. Another math idiot.  muted no
