Hi,  I am new to the forum.  I have A Bally 809 nickle slot that works very well for the most part.  Just recently after hitting any payout the winner bell will not stop until you insert another coin and pull the handle.  The winner paid light and insert next coin light illuminate and the winner bell sounds, but will not stop until you play again.  I do not have a clue where to start looking to fix this problem.   I have been impressed by the helpfulness on other threads on this forum.  I was hoping that someone can point me in the right direction on fixing this problem.  Looking forward to any helpful input and thanks in advance.  John

John:

Welcome to the forum.  You will see by my previous posts that I ask more questions than I have answers but I want to try to help you.  First thing I would do is get a schematic and make sure your bell wiring is as suggested by Bally.  I would also shake all of the wire harnesses that I could while the bell is ringing.  If it goes off then you may have some wires with insulation issues and a rewire or some electric tape me do the trick for you.  My 2 cents for your 5 cent machine.  Please keep us posted and send us a pic if you can.

Hi Terrance,

Just received my electro-mechanical repair manual in the mail yesterday.  Looked over the 809 schematic. Did not see anything unusual in the wiring harness.  It seem Bally uses one switch for multiple functions.  I am trying to interpret the schematic to trace the wiring from the bell to the jackpot relays without much luck.  Finally got to late last night and had to stop trouble shooting and go to bed.  Would any one know where this relay is physically located on the machine that would cut some time tracing wire back from the bell.  Thanks again in advance for anyone that could point me in the right direction.  John
