i have a Sigma twins sg150b slot 1996. is there any way to validate the softwarethat it is running. it seems to payout at odd times like when I get a 7 and the other two are in between

I'm not real familiar with your exact machine, but usually that is caused by the reel strips not being installed right.  Either they are in the wrong order, not lined up properly, or even the wrong reel strips entirely.  It may also be the right strips and the wrong software.
