Hello everyone,

Hoping someone can give me some advise.... Im trying to access the options menu. The manual says to hold the test button until 11d shows in the message center. Ive held that button for a good two minutes and nothing happens. I did a complete ram clear, set the date and time and still nothing. Any ideas???

After you set date & time did you push the button far left on panel?
After that you should be able to push test & get in.

Hi, Yes i did.. the change button exited the time/date set option. Im wondering if any of the dip switches on the mpu board can disable this feature. The manual doesnt give any refrence to that.

If you want to get into options why did you do a clear?
What kind of clear did you do? complete - partial - or full?

Try shutting the door make sure the clear took
then open the door leave open, press the test button 11 times you should then be in the 11d menu.

Going to give it another shot now.The clear was a full clear. The instructions i got with the chips was to set sw8 to on, do the clear then turn it off. The machine works, plays etc. No flashing lights. However, original chips that were in it, are still out. I will do another full clear and swap the chips.

Just following the instructions I got with the chips and the conversation i had with the fellow i got them from. I was told that the other ones are not needed anymore.

Ill also try to push the test button 11 times before i do the clear again.

Did another full clear, swaped chips to the original u28 and 43, so the new clears are not in it. Made no diffrence. Also tried pushing the test button 11 times, still nothing. Seems like the test button does nothing excpet when performing a clear. The psuedo coin and reset buttons work as they are supposed to.

You did the clear. Did you hold buttons until it flashed?
Then you removed clear chips & put your reg. chips in.
Boot up & set time & date.
Push service.
Then do the test button thing.

Correct. Exactly as you said. Thats why im wondering if a dip switch could be set incorrectly. Maybe there is a setting to prevent changes

I might have found a solution... On page 2-10 of the proslot 6000 manual there is a blurb at the bottom of the page that says " if market code=12, the mpu TEST button is inactive. A second keyswitch provides test functions. So now im wondering what the second keyswitch is or what to change the settings to???

I figured this all out.... I used the key switch inside the unit, had to cycle the key 11 times to get to the options menu as each cycle went up by ones. So one cycle went to 1d, second was 2d etc.

So now im wondering what market codes are all about????

Thanks for everyones help with this  Azn Smiley

He has the older mains(certain jurisdictions) that use a key switch inside to the right of the reels.  The test button doesn't work on these.  Using newer mains, or different jurisdictions, like the ones most of us use, will make it so the test button works.  Was probably a Canadian model from around 1998.

Thanks,
Wayne

Wayne, you are correct. The unit is from 1999 actually.

You mention jurisdictions (guessing what the book refers to as market codes). Would it make a diffrence to set it diffrently, will anything change other then the test button becoming active?

Unless you want to use tickets, there's not much use in changing the mains.  I used to get the early S6000 machines with the key switch and they were fine.  You can try setting the market code for vegas, dpsw3 all on, but I don't think it will work.

Thanks,
Wayne
