I just replaced my dbv 145 with a dbv 200,(on a Bally pro slot s5500 double blazing sevens) and now my machine will not accept bills--the bv cycles just fine on power up and the transport opens and shuts to the cash box--but will not accept bills. I did a complete ram clear, and also did a stand alone test on the validator which passed just fine. I cannot figure this out unless the MPU is communicvating with the valifator somehow--can anyone give me a clue?? ttjackpot

Hello!

Did you change the validator power supply too?  I'm not sure on a Bally, but on a S+, a DBV200 requires a different power supply with higher wattage than the DBV145.  The required supply has slots in the black cover like the one pictured below.  Never owned any Bally's - so I guessing on this one....

The Bally does not have a separate Power Supply, you either need to change a dipswitch on the 200 or have the wrong software in it, confirm the old and new software and post it here or pics

Thanks for the input--I changed the dip switch but it still does not accept bills--will recycle during power up--I cannot tell what software this bv has been set for--but it came from a Bally s5500 that was working fine. Also--I would like to know where I can get the MPU board for the Ballys5500 pro slot--I need the one with the ram clear set at the jumper (I think J10)--Any one know where I can get one of these--Thanks--TTJACKPOT

The Mains are what determines the way the Ram Clear is done, older Mains use the Jumper, newer ones the Chips, you need to know  the version numbers of the software, on the BV if you took out a working 145 Sh head and replaced it with a 200 head from a known working 5500, you would not have to clear the ram, and the only dipswitch on the 200 head that would have to be changed is #10, but if you took a 145 out that worked all dips should be off, I suspect the 200 head may not have SH software in it if it is a flash, there should be some identification of the software in it on it somewhere

That is from a Williams Game. not a Bally, the Bally would have 044/45 P, you simply need a different Eprom, you can get up to the new $5 for the Bally, there should be a version like 2.60 or like on the chip as well, that tells the version, we have all those if you need

current bally/wms version for dbv200 is 2.70.
you can also do an EPROM dump and see the
current EPROM version number and type in the
Ascii code dump.

Possibly one day it will be understood that many DBV-200 SH Programs are Separate for the WMS and Bally, the W won't work in a Bally (P) and vice versa on the more current programs, (Colored 20, 50, 10), but TTjkpt if you want the correct Software let us know we can supply the exact factory issued chip, no problemo, no need for a tuning fork, shovel, 8 feet of wiring harness, 7/8" wrench, torch or nothing, just need to replace like for like, and get a guarantee it will work

i've noticed on DBV145 that the newest version (3.40)
works on both bally and williams.

Yes, the 145 no problem, but the 200 versions for the colored bills had the W or P or even some WP designations prior to that any 044/45 chip would work in either

In my Bally 5500 I just replaced a DBV 145 to a DBV 200 V 2.12-05 (F2DC) it was an ID 044/045P USA and it will not take the new twenty's, tens and fives. How do I upgrade it. Is it a chip that needs to be replaced....Thanks I still have a lot to learn... Duh!

version 2.1x won't take any of the new colored money. to get
all the new colored money you need version 2.70. and the
bally version at that.
