CHAMII error code C9

Hi slot Techs,

after a power failer my CHAMII displays shows error C9 (lost of configuration.. )
Can anyone explain how to fix this issue  .
value is high at this time and customers are grrrr..

Do you have multiple meters attached to a central controller (in other words, a bank of slot machines with a common progressive jackpot), or individual stand-alone machines that are not linked?

You need to identify the controller (either a central controller like a CON 2, or individual stand-alone controllers inside the machine(s)), then you need to re-program your controller using a computer and the PSP software program.

We use 8 slantop IGT slots with 1 con2 controller and the chamII display for progressive.
power when down that day and after we restore power we saw the problem C9.
is there a backup file in the controller so i can reload the settings again?
or do i have to reconfig a setting again.
lost everything i think.

There is not a backup file in the controller. Hopefully whoever programmed it saved the configuration file on the computer with the PSP software so it can easily be reprogrammed in a situation like this.

Also, it's a good practice to record (write down) the values of every progressive jackpot in your casino every 24 hours so you have a known value for the meter if and when you have to reset it after a failure (like this one).

I don't know anything about the Con2, but the chamII+ doesn't lose the progressive amount, the reset amount, or the increment amount when the battery dies. They had to build the thing to certain Nevada standards where money was concerned.

It seems likely to me that the Con2 would be built the same way. You'd lose the fancy programming and settings, but not the three important money values. Of course, I could be wrong.

You are correct.  I turn the power on and off all the time and it never looses its settings.  Maybe his got zapped by a voltage spike?

For what it's worth, my ChamII+ was unplugged for a long time and the battery died -- it lost everything.

Very odd. I've lost my ChamII+ battery twice now, removed and replaced it, and still had the current progressive amount -- in plain red.   It would also still increment when pulsed.


Maybe there's a capacitor that helps hold the value when the battery power is completely removed -- and maybe my capacitor's in better shape?

hello guys,

i open the cham2 and switch to config mode, then i saw everything was ???.
reconfig these settings correct the C9 error.....so C9 error has nothing to do with the controller, but the display settings .
