I just noticed that the plate in the hopper bowls on one of my machines is different. The metal plate on one is bent up (looks like a factory bend to me as it's perfectly straight) and on my other ones, it's flat. Anyone know why?

Purely a guess, but maybe the bent one was used with dollar coins to help prevent them from getting stacked together too much and jamming?  I have no idea, otherwise.

I'm pretty sure the bent plates are the "newer" design.
We had two hopper bowls that were worn on the bottom from
coins hitting the bowl too hard in the same place.
When I say "worn" - I mean pretty much a nice hole!
It would cause the bowl to split after time if it wasn't taken care of.
My co-worker tried to use some hot glue gun but that wasn't strong enough really.
I eventually found some bowls off of a seller here on NLG and replaced them.

The metal bend prevents the coins from hitting the same spot all the time
and re-directs them sideways - as opposed to head-on with the bottom on a low-coin bowl...
