Hi all,

Would dearly love some help with this one.

Trying to repair a Pacific Gaming - Horizon2 Machine. the system was in storage for a couple of years and
the 3.6v Nicad is near dead. Error on startup was ram error.

I replaced the Nicad with a 3.6v Nimh and have gone the 1st error to now have

ROM REPLACED - DO RAM CLEAR

If anyone can advise the procedure to clear the ram, I would be most appreciative.

Kind Regards, Penno

p.s. I am in Australia

Hi all,

I have found in the METERS item the ability to "RESET"

This option allows one to set parameters like -

Machine ID
Denom
Coin Payout Max
etc

At the base of the screen, the Instructions is - Press BET1 to exit.

This will not allow me to exit. The only way out is to Power OFF and Power back on. Then the changes are not recorded.

I guess there must be some sequence of Open Logic door and Turn Reset Key then Press Bet1.

Have tried many combinations but cannot save and exit yet.

Will post a pic when I can, maybe this will help.

Regards, Penno

Hi There and Welcome to NLG.

I did a quick search on your machine and all I came up with was a Oz site selling a LCD replacement. Not a lot of info on Pacific gaming either. I know they were taken over by Aruze.
Anyways I am attaching a manual for the EMAX which I believe is a later generation of what you have. With any luck the clear procedure will be the same across different models of machine.

Post some pics of the entire machine and also the processor board - Always good to have pics to refer to especially for the rarer equipment when other members are looking for help.

Anyways try the clear procedure documented on the first few pages and let us know if it works

Regards
Ian

Hi Ian,

Thanks for that.

I will get a couple of pics done.

The machine does not have a monitor, so I just use my multisync. No picture panels either.

I actually exited but pressing so many buttons, can not identify which were pressed. I think I also closed the logic switch.

Becasue I selected JCM not MARS for bill acceptor, I reset, changed to MARS and am now trying to exit again.

Persistance, I was lucky once, maybe again.

Will keep trying,

Thanks that manual looks close - screen images.

Interesting - I actually have a processor board that looks like that lying in the workshop where I am now working. As far as I know it came from some Pacific - Sirius machines that were scrapped last year.I will ask the Guys if they can remember anything about this and see if there are any manuals on file when I am back at work on Monday
