Hello all,
I am getting a crackle and distortion sound with my vision. I replaced the speaker in the coin tray, same problem. Sound is coming out of the dog ears and the coin speaker but very tinny. Any ideas? Scratch Head Thanks -Koni

I'd try reseating your sound SIMM next, then your multimedia lite 2 board.  If it continues, try another MML2 board if you have one.  Next, I would test another amp.

Vision machines don't usually have a sound simm. Sound comes from the LCD control box, runs back through the MPU, then up to the amp board in the top box and out to the speakers. I fixed mine by running directly from the LCD controller to the amp board and out to the speakers bypassing the MPU entirely. A guy could do the resistor upgrade to the speaker leads that fixes the same problem on standard S2000s also. Whatever suits ya on that one.

Hello All, I got caught up with work last month and have not had any time. This problem is new, the machine never had any problems. Where is the controller on the LCD. Thanks

Should I try to replace the sound board/amp first?

Can't hurt, but when they go bad they commonly cause volume related problems, not static. You may just have the common S2000 sound problem resolved with resistors placed on the speaker leads

I know that others have done the resisters in the speaker wires to eliminate any unwanted sounds the speakers
The best fix would be to buy a 504B board

Can you post a video on youtube place link to the video here or attach a sound file of the sound coming from the machine.
