Just bought a Sigma UV 1700. The unit fired up fine but wouldnt play due to a ''Stacked Removed" error. I was told to reset the mother board by pulling the batteries on the board. Bad idea! The unit will not boot up now. Gives a GFP error.  Any ideas on how to get the unit to boot up again?

Thank you in advance for any advice!

Try and reset your stacker box pull it out and push it back in tight. Then restart machine. Also make sure your MPU is in tight. If none of that works then you will need a Dallas all clear chip. Also probley a set chip   Paul

Thanks for the reply Paul.
I get this
General Fault Protection
Program counter 0x0033f5b3
Status Register 0x00010287
Error code 0x17d9000
Task 0x17fcfb44 "t test Init"

Tried loading the Bios defaults. No luck.

Thanks again!

Sounds like I might need Dallas all clear chip?

Ok well conrad sold me his kiss slot! LOL now im trying to fix it.
Heres what i got now: i got the bios errors gone by also hitting setup defAults as well as bios defaults as conrad said he did above. I also added new batterys to the motherboard. Now it just stops at this:
Host name: boothost
Target name: vxTarget
User: target

And it just hangs There like that now in blue background. Ive given like 15 min. But i think its staying there.
Any uv1700 experts know what i can do next?
I am going to buy a clear chip but i was hoping it can be fixed before i try that.
At least i got the faults conrad was getting to stop. Thx Tim

I agree, Check the amount of RAM showing at startup. It should go throught the process three time.
Also have had a machine hang up on the blue screen. I usually re-boot and it goes through.

Re-seat your RAM and re-boot. Save the clear for a last ditch effort.

you need to perform the clear for this.  Not sure who told Conrad to pull his batteries, but it obviously corrupted it.

Thanks,

thx mopar. yes i had jerry helping me tonight through email, found out my ram is good at 393k. no more error codes since i added new mb batteries, but it completely stops at the boothost & vxtarget thing as posted above. thank you , i ordered a clear chip.
so when i get my clear chip after i complete the clear, i re-install the boot chip and run cd and that gets me goin right?  I ask cause i read a post where paul (forget forum name) said something about a set chip along with clear chip. dont know anything about a 'set chip".  ty Tim

Just an update for NLG members who ever have similar problems with a uv1700. Just like everyone has recomended, the clear chip has made progress. Game not up yet cause i need the set chip and the machine is asking for it now, but Great sign! As it never made it past host screen above until now. Fingers crossed, after i do set chip i think it will run.
Very excited,  rotflmao  Tim

Ok i got set chip installed, Went over all setup info, saved, reinstalled boot chip as machine instructed, but still no game. I got the 'please call attendant' error stating 'secondary program version changed'. the good news is thats the only error, but im confused on what its refering to. Can anyone weigh in? Game chip and cd is what came with the machine and conrad said besides getting stacker removed error, the slot version of game was running. Thx! Tim

Is this a 9 inch top machine?
If so, would you please post a picture of the top glass.

I was told the top glass was the same as the belly glass, however the top glass is 1/2 inch shorter.
seem there would have been different graphics on the top glass.

Thanks, I'll ask around about the progressive top.
I'm sure it's just programing for the I/O card in that top box.
