Ok,here is a update  Duh! I found most of the EL keys for a few dollars ( did not have mine). Tried a few times on printing out a ticket... no luck. The best I can do so far is under the option menu is to "test printer" which will print out a "void " ticket ... which just says void everywhere on the ticket Scratch Head  . My printer does not flash now, just stays lit  Hail I installed a hopper ,coin head... but not sure of the CC yet Duh! so under options the hopper is still off.

when you say you tried to print a ticket does that mean you hit the cashout button with credits and the game went into a handpay?  if you are able to print a void ticket then your printer and game are "talking" to each other properly.  the Seiko Gen1 printer with Konami firmware will "burn" one ticket when a new bundle is put in.  this is why when you put in your single tickets it went into a paper out tilt.  btw:  if you want to know what firmware your printer has on it just power the game down, hold the feed button on the printer then power the game up.  it will print out a configuration ticket with the firmware and other info on it.

i've been dealing with this type of machine on our floor for several years now, if you need help just let me know.  if your coin comparitor is all that's holding you back right now i think you are very close to having fun with your Konami 1.5 Video slot machine!!

Hi Randy,

When you put the single through, did it actually print any info on the ticket? If so, could you tell me the socket number on the backplane board where the printer harness is connected.

I have been told that these Konamis can only print when connected to an online accounting system. There is a workaround using a CDS (now owned by Aristiocrat) Sentinal II board, but I cant find a wiring diagram or info on how to do this.

Regards
David

hey David, the printer is connected to CNB31, the Sentinel II board is connected to CNB34.  anything else you need?  i've been working with CDS for over 9 years now so hopefully i can help you out with connections and troubleshooting.  let me know.  Mc D

I  held the  feed while powering up. This is a scan of the ticket that printed. Hope you can tell something by it,cause I cant  Duh! . Only settings I "play" with is the ones that I think are safe. Like on the Sigmas'1700 if you have to many faults it will lock up until you put a clear chip in...which I have none for the Konami. Thanks for any help you can give.

I missed this post. My answers have arrived I hope. Thanks kforeman. Just 2 questions.
The power supply for the CDS board is ?volt.
I have attached a picture which another tech sent me of the wiring harness. Can you verify it? Note that he got the Konami connection number wrong. I think he also got the green and orange cable mixed.

Randy, you still gonna need a CDS board to make it print offline

Thanks again

the firmware version and baud rate you have is different than mine, but that could just be because of the jurisdiction you are in. Scratch Head not real sure on that.  but it appears that your printer functions properly with the machine since you can print a "void" ticket.  so have you been able to put credits on the game and hit the cashout button to see what happens?  if you get a hand pay then like beko mentioned you probably need to get ahold of a sentinel II board and the various wire harnesses to connect it to the game.  based on what you have posted so far to me it appears that you need to get a coin comparitor and a hopper if you are planning on using one.  or do like we do and disable the coin comparitor and hopper in el key setup so all you need is the bill validator and the printer to play!  let me know what else i can do to help. applause

the sentinel II power supply is 110VAC input and 9VDC output.  i'll go verify the pins on the harness, will post up my findings in a few.

here's a modified version of the pinout drawing, i have added the lines that show which pins my wires are connected to.  the red in the drawing was the same so i didn't modify it.  the wire colors don't match, but that doesn't really matter.  as for the connection number used, it would depend on which channel was designated for communication in the setup, so the use of CNB32 would work if it was set up to look for comm. in that channel.  let me know if i can help any more.  wave

Hi kforeman ,I have the printer enabled and the light on it stay solid now. Ever when I hit cash out it will go to hand pay... regardless of the cashout amount. I have a hopper in it but no CC yet . Also, the hopper is still turned off under the menu. I tried to change some of the settings but I do not have a EL key for it (still looking for one)

PS,Tha machine came from a Candain Casino, Windsor I think

you're going to have to get the el key to enable your hopper and coin comparitor.  hissy fit  the game will continue to go into a handpay until you either get your hopper enabled and disable the printer, or you get a sentinel II board installed as beko has discussed. bawling  based on what you have written about your setup and settings i would assume that the Windsor was 100% TiTo so had the comparitor and hopper removed and disabled in setup, that is how all of our games are here as well.
btw, i suggest picking up a spare CD-Rom drive and making a copy of your CD as these are 2 of the biggest problems we have had with the 1.5 games. yes

Thanks kforeman,

I will have to test this next week as I have a new location installation starting tomorrow.
I know East Coast Slots in Miami have the universal el key (kg v1.5) for $150. I have found here someone selling Sentinel boards for $15.

This has been very helpful
