Hi everyone I would really appreciate any help!

I have a Novomatic / 'Admiral Games of the World' Joker's Wild machine which was working fine but now all that appears on the monitor after power on is 'No Sync' which then disappears after a few seconds. All other lights come on but nothing more on the monitor.

Please help thanks!!

I am not familiar with that machine at all, but since you are getting a message on the monitor, I would check for any loose cables going to it.

Does the machine appear to be playable even though you can't see anything on the display?

sounds like the machine has lost the video feed, I agree with poppo, check your cables going to the monitor and see if one has come loose. Is this a machine with one monitor or two? Also, does the "no sync" message appear in both monitors or just the one?

Hi Poppo and Firebird - thanks very much for getting back to me...I had a fiddle around and realised it was just a blown fuse which I replaced and all working fine now, thanks again!

Hi again, I have another problem with this machine...

It was working fine until yesterday when there weren't enough coins to pay out the winnings and now when I power up it says the following:

Coolfire kernel V5.0-18
1998-2000 Austrian Gaming Industries
Processor init completed
Memory test completed
RAM test completed
ROM test completed
EEPROM test completed
Nucleus startup completed
Joker's Wild GB V5.0-18 GB 18

Error 61    :  RAM error
Action:   Force RAM clear

Has anybody got any idea how I 'force my RAM clear'??

Any help much appreciated!!

Not exactly sure what model your machine is but from the photo you posted its a coolfire 1 processor platform so the attached doc should help. While you have the board out check if your batteries are good.

Let us know how it goes

Hi Ian thanks so much for the info and yes that looks like the right one, I need to get a replacement fuse before I do it but will let you know how I get on.

Hi Ian you are a genius thank you so much it worked. I don't have a key for the 'logic door' but I managed to flick the dil switch with the end of a coathanger!

Ok this machine is killing me.....one final attemp for someone to put me out of my misery please!!

The RAM clear problem is sorted now (thanks again Ian) however I am having an on-going problem with one of the fuses and it's wrecking my head.

Basically I know it's the fuse because if I start the machine with this fuse missing, all I get on screen is 'No Sync' (my original problem). Now when I replace the fuse the machine works perfectly (FOR A WHILE) until the monitor goes blank, and the 'No Sync' message reappears every few seconds (its like the power to the monitor is interrupted intermittently.
Sometimes (not every time) the machine will be up and running and this problem happens when I insert a coin (i.e. the signal to the monitor gets broken and the software restarts as if I have just powered up)

The text underneath the holder for the fuse says 'F5A-250V' (although the fuse that was in there originally was a glass 1amp fuse) I have tried both 1amp and 5amp new fuses and am getting the same problem.
Will try and attach a pic of the offending fuse holder.....any help GREATLY appreciated

Hi

It may be a harness problem. Check all your harnesses for frayed or picnhed wires especially on the door where movement occurs and in the top box and tower light where it may be shorting out against the metal cabinet.

ideea:
when "no sync" present on monitors, please verify power supply potential, need have + 5v and + 12v.

maybe fuse can burned when billacceptor or coinacceptor work, and not power supply for pcb?

Hi, sorry for hijacking this thread....

I have a similar issue with my Novomatic Admiral Red Baron machine with 'error 61'.
I have tried resetting the Coolfire processor as described by TZTech but still get an error 61 when I power up again. Silly Me!

I have noticed that the battery is reading 0 volts, would this cause this issue? Scratch Head

I am new to Novomatics but would love to see this machine working.

BTW, I have no info on this machine, does anyone have a manual or other info?

Just an update on my previous post...

I have fitted a new battery and the diagnostics etc work and error 61 is gone. applause

I now have 2 new errors.... bawling

1:- Jackpot controller missing. Would there be a component missing from my machine?
2:- Meters Disconnected. As above Scratch Head

Anyone with any idea?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say, I assume you have never had this machine working and have just purchased it?
Most likely, it still looking for the SAS commands from the casino progressive system.

Now the tricky part, I have no idea how this is done on the Novamatics. I do believe it is done with a jumper setting, but someone with more knowledge on this platform will have to jump in here.

Agreed some history and some pics would make a diagnosis easier

After the RamClear did it go into a setup screen of some kind ?
On the newer platforms any tilts have to be keyed off - May be the same situation on Yours?

Hi All,

You are correct in saying that I have just acquired the machine, I don't have any history on the machine (or should I say Machines!), the guy who sold them to me said that two of them were working and the other one was for spare parts. The two good(?) ones were removed from an arcade a few months ago and placed in storage.
I have since placed the CPU with the new battery into the other good machine and the error messages appear to be related to an empty hopper....I need to fill it I think, but I don't have enough coin Silly Me!
I will have to pay my local bank a visit.
I will take a few photos tomorrow and post.
I really appreciate your help here..

If you have an empty hopper error, that means that the hopper attempted to run but no coins came out. You do not have to fill the hopper with coins to clear that error. You just need enough coins in the hopper for the machine to finish paying out what credits are left on the machine.

Thanks for that Neonkiss, that error has now gone away....
I am now having a new error.  E27 7 : Bill acceptor failure.    Action: Turn attendant key. Check acceptor. I have turned the key and gone through the menu and nothing refers to the bill acceptor menu.
Any ideas? Scratch Head
Can the bill acceptor be bypassed and coin only used?
Again, I really appreciate everyone's help wave

I'm not sure since I have never worked on one, but I would look into the setting as see if you have to specify what type of bill acceptor is in the machine. You will need to know if it's a WBA or Mars.
Post a picture of the bill acceptor and maybe someone will tell you what type you have in the machine.
