I have an IGT triple diamond with a code 21 "coin in" error code.  I cleaned the coin optics, coin comparitor works (switched with another machine.  Also, when turned on with toggle on/off switch,  wheels do not align themselves correctly -  machine was in a status of fluorescent lights and bill validator only status, no red numbers ondoor  panel board - pulled white socket plug & replaced on mother board behind coin bin and used "set chip" to turn on bill validator -  Machine now turns on w/ code 21 in winner far left window,  will not accept coins and shows no credits.  Any help appreciated.  THX

Did you try another set of coin optics?  Or go into the self test and run the coin optics test.

What do you mean the reels did not align? Also the using the set chip will always clear your credits if you had any.

Hi Im getting the same type of problem

I have an IGT 5 Times S plus quarter slot machine and getting an error 21 on the coins paid display. When i close the door the wheel slightly move, more of just a shake and the error comes right up. I metterd the pigtail to the coin comparitor with the comparitor unplugged and get 24Vac, once i plug in the compaitor the voltage drops to 0Vac and the light does not come on, I tried a second comparitor and it fails the same way. I took power from the power supplies 6pin that feeds the machine the 24Vac, and the comparitor lights up and seems ok. I connected the purple wire as well and closed the door and I still get the error 21. I push the rest button and still fails. the coin optic seems ok but unable to test it. I do not believe the power should drop to 0Vac by plugging in the comparitor and thinking my problem lies some where with that.

everything else seems ok from what I can tell.

any suggestions?
Thank you

You won't see the CC LED on if the door is open.

The 21 is generated by the optics. Try re-seating the coin optics cable. You can also go into self test to check  the optics.
