I am new to the progressive displays, but can a custom message be programmed for these instead of the scrolling numbers?

Thanks,

David

you have to use psp to program a message into jpot.do
Is this same one I set up for your S2000?

I can teach you how to do it with your computer, or I can let you send it to me again and I Will make the changes for you

Doing it yourself would let you understand how it is done, and you can change the message as often as you like.

I would rather learn how to do it myself, other than my computer, do I need a program of some type?

You need PSP 2.0 or 3.0 and a serial cable
Serial cable with male and female ends on it (available at RadioShack)
Jumper pins 1 and 5 at the cham II+

Then you have start the software and go to message programming and and edit the default JPOT.DO file
then send it to the controller by pressing the "F1" key on your keyboard
I would use PSP 3.0 if I was you
there is help in the software on what each of the commands do and also get the psp manual

All the files you need are in the uploads area. I think I also sent them to you a while back as well.

It's also possible to have more than one message. You separate each message with several jackpot tokens. Each is a new "paragraph". What I found was that there isn't a length restriction (within reason) on the messages, but a limit on the total number of command "paragraphs." I think it was 29 or 31 or something odd, but CRS. If you put in too many you'll get machine code ASCII characters in the display when it runs.

You need several jackpot token commands between each message and between the first one and the last one (either at the beginning or end of the file) so that you see the progressive for a while in between messages. The paragraph limitation limits the number of messages you can do based on personal preference of how often you want your progressive amount interrupted.

Okay, is PSP 3 backward compatible with PSP 2? Will it import settings and jackpot.do file info created in v2, or does one have to start from scratch?
