bally 809 hopper help please

I have a bally 809 that I just bought the other day. Its a nickle machine and the problem I'm having is when I hit it pays out nothing. So I swaped out the hopper from my other 809 and it pays out. So I'm getting power to the hopper. What should I look for to fix the hopper I can't test it in the machine with power on it no room and if I pull it out no power to test. What normaly goes out. Like I said it does nothing to payout. Is there a fuse ? Thanks Terry

Got it to payout one time last night. But don't know how I done it. I turned the wheel on the side of the hoPper and put it back in the machine and align the reels for a pay out and it did but not the right amount. Got to looking at the zero switch if your look at it is it suppose to be open or close when it resets. And the wheel with the contacts on the hopper mine is plastic and the part that sets it back to zero is broke. And can anyone tell me where the contacts are sitting on the board when it returns to zero. Mine is missing the stop on the wheel. Thanks

The hopper is working now and pays out but pays out the wrong amount. It under pays about half of what it should. Any suggestions thanks

When you put in your good hopper, does it pay out correctly? If so, I'd start checking contacts on the bad hopper. Don't use any sandpaper or ANYTHING abrasive. I use just a piece of clean card stock in between contacts and gently run it through. Before doing any contact cleaning though, check the beau plug in the back of the hopper and make sure the pins are not shoved back or damaged. If they look really corroded - hold off on cleaning those with anything abrasive either since they may be silver coated. I'm having the same problem and I'm still quite new to working on EM's so I'm still waiting answers on cleaning those pins. Hope this helps for now.

I've cleaned those with a small wire brush wheel on my Dremel before... I've also used a 500 and 600 grit wet/dry sand paper and rubbing alcohol to clean/poliish them with good results...
