So, haven't heard much from my other post, but i figured out that I'm actually missing the "MPU" for my slot machine. Which pretty much tells me exactly why its not working I suppose. Slot repair place told me to get in touch with Foxsslots from ebay. So I sent him an email, then realized that he was the same fellow who posts on these boards. Small world huh? Judging from Fox's ebay listings I don't think he will have an MPU available though. Again, tag on the machine says E-1096, but the IO board on the inside says E-809.

Now I've spent about 4 days digging around on the internet trying to find a replacement mpu with pretty much no luck. I could really use some help, if anyone has some contacts or ideas please post them.

If I cant find the pieces.. well i guess i have a bunch of parts for a slot machine for sale. But I really wouldn't want it to come to that.

Can you post a picture of your machine and the board up here?
I personally do not know what that board is for really.
My guess is that it's for a Bally machine but there are several models.
Posting a photo of these will help you a lot!

I resemble that remark,   Crazy arrow    but I was in the garage working on my newest Bally EM...The machine does look complete except for the missing MPU. The ribbon cable from the I/O is still there, they just have the MPU end of the ribbon cable attached to the right side of the I/O, my guess to keep it from getting damaged.. It looks like the ribbon cable for the door meter is still there as well as the mounting bracket for the MPU. It should not be that hard to find a good MPU, I know that I have a few extras from machines I've parted out, and could part with one, but locating the correct eproms might be a problem. That's where I would hope that Barry at Foxsslots could help.

Awesome, how do we setup getting the board from you? Also I need to get in touch with Fox/Barry for eproms. Hope i can sort this out rather then scrap it and start all over again.  applause

Hi guys, just wanted to let you know I got  in touch with Barry and sent him the information to hopefully get me my eproms and MPU, or at the very least the eproms needed. Hope all goes well.

Good to hear Oddzball, it would be a shame to see that machine scrapped or used for part. Looks like it's in nice shape.. Like I said I have a couple extra MPU's and I'd be willing to sell one if you can find the eproms you need..

Well even if Barry is unable to assist in the matter, I figure I'll make out ahead in parts value if I have to. From what I understand from talking to him the eproms are specific to the machine, so I dont know if that makes it extremely difficult to find the right one.

Well if anyone can help you with this issue he can.. I would think that over the years that he has worked on the machines, he would have a set for just about any of the Bally's, or at least the files on them.. Give him time to check on it, I hear he's still move his shop from Florida to Boston..
