Basic question on the jackpot reset key...

If i have 100 credits and only 50 quarters in the hopper and hit "cash out"; it pays the 50 quarters and then gives the 3300 "hopper empty" error.  I would "think" based on the manual that i can just turn the jackpot reset key and clear the credits to zero. It doesn't do that, it goes into the statistical mode.

Is there any way to clear these 50 credits waiting to still pay other then refilling the hopper ?

If there is no way then i'm assuming for future cashouts; i can go into the software setup and choose a hopper limit of like 1 or something and THEN i could use the jackpot reset key to clear the credits because it "knows" it's a handpay and not hopper empty ?

Thanks for any feedback.

You have to refill the hopper till the payout completes. Afterwards, before you play more, with 0 credits on the machine you can set your hopper limit (option 7 1) to 1 and all cashouts will be handpays.

Hello!

Realize if this machine uses a older SP chip (such as 731) - you can not set a different hopper limit, jackpot lockup amount and credit limit - the SP731 only has a hopper limit.  So if you lower the hopper limit to 1 - the credit limit also becomes 1 - so you can not put any credits on the machine and every win/pay becomes a hand pay (even cherries!).  That is one advantage of a SP1271 as an example.  Not sure which SP you have or if you even know what I'm talking about.  To check the SP on your machine...

You can find out by either pulling the board (with the power off, of course.) and reading the number off the chip or by opening the door (with the power on) and pressing the white test button (next to the power switch) until you get to the paytable test 4 (displayed in the coins in window). The game chip number will display in the credits window.

Not to be nit picking, but if you set the hopper limit to 1 with the SP1271 and you have exactly 1 credit, it will cash out the credit. If you run your machine with no coins at all then set the hopper limit to 0. That will guarantee that the hopper never engages.

I have checked the SP version before; i'll have to recheck it when i get a chance but i believe it was SP 1160.

I think on the hopper i'll set it to 50 or so; so on the small payouts we have the full casino affect with paying coins, and then handpay after that.....

Thanks for the info guys..
