Hi all. I'm trying to connect a williams 550 machine to the IGT SASTest software. I think the SAS is connected to the Host Comm port on the main io board but i have no idea which pins to connect to. Duh! If anyone has a pinout diagram it would be a great help.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the info. Exactly what i needed. The machine is tweeting its SAS address but my usb comm port cant understand it for some reason. The tx from the williams machine looks a little messy on the scope. I also have a pcb with a MAX232 chip connected to a PIC microcontroller. Once the signal has gone through the MAX232 and converted to 5v it seems fine Scratch Head  I'm wondering if the UART on the USB serial dongle just will not work with the signals the williams transmits. I'm going to write some software for the PIC microcontroller and will update if I make some progress.

Nicely documented - K+

If you are not already using it would recommend FTDI USB to serial converters. The more commonly available prolific chipset seems to be less reliable.
Would also be interesting to get some more info on what you are implementing on the Pic - I am also working on a PIC - SAS project.

Hello all,

I'm having so much trouble trying to get EFT to work on the WMS 550 games. I don't know if its something I'm doing wrong in the clear chip process, setup after the clear chip, game versions or in the XU27 EFT chip. This is where I'm at now...

Williams 550 sas issues.

With sas 5 games there is no chirp when the host port is not connect to the host.
When the game is connect there is no communication.

With games roms that have only sas+, sas3 or sas4 everything works as expected.

We have an eft key chip for XU27 but using it on ram clear does not help.
Using it with the game rom in after ram clear we get a eft key error message.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks
