I have a igt slant top with dbv-145 and want to upgrade to dbv-200. I did this on an upright but this seems a little different. I don't see the power supply to see if i need to upgrade it also. Is this a simple switch also ?

The power supply should be nearby. Just follow the wires from the head. If it has slots in the case like this one, you are good to go. It's just a matter of swapping heads. Otherwise you need a power supply like this.

Ok...I now see the power supply and it is vented as needed. I now need to figure out how to open that area behind glass. Thanks in advance.

No you do not need to swap out any other chips. Just swap the BV head.

However since that one listed on e-bay is not a eprom type, it may not have the latest update. Note: Even the latest update won't take the new $5s. Might ask the seller what version it has. You want v2.6

If you do swap to the SP1271 you 'might' have to re-enable the BV. So a set chip would be good to have on hand before sticking the 1271 in there.

he said The unit would have to be hooked up to a computer to update if one would be available because it is not the eprom version.

Right. That is why you might want to know what version it has. Because you would have a couple of options.

1. Live with whatever version it has, which may mean even less of the newer bills it will accept
2. Send it off to someone to update it.
3. Convert it to eprom type per this thread and obtain a newer version chip. http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=594.0
4. Buy one that already has the latest update from one of the vendors here.

IMO option 4 would be the best bet.

Hmmm...... As far as I know the last update made for the DBV200 for a S+ does NOT take the new $5s. Might want to double check and make sure it's ID022/023.

This is used but tested. Can be used for IGT S+ slot machines or IGT PE+ video poker machines. Has the last software update which allows the bill head to accept all bills from $1-$100 including all the new issue money up through the new $10. Please specify when ordering if you are using it for the IGT S+ slot machine or IGT PE+ video poker machine so that we can have it configured correctly for your application. For any questions regarding this part, please call us at 1-937-836-5609

thats what im going off of

Well, don't expect it to take the new $5s. There are plenty of posts about it, but here is one that explains it.
