igt 2000 super pay 2 5 2 5 way machine

i hit the cashout button with no coins in it  i cleared out the credits the screen says it paid out the credits now its says insert coin but the bill receiver doesnt lite and the coins are falling back into the tray  there is a coin in the anticipator slot turned the reset key nothing no codes in display window  is there a way to switch from using coins and just use the bill acceptor i even pushed the little white switch it sent to accounting on the display   any help will be surely appreciated

  welcome to the forum chooch!! 

you're going to get hit with more questions but i suggest listing your bill acceptor model and software version, your game and base chip versions and taking some pictures of your machine and the bill acceptor.

in the meantime you could hit the white switch button on your mpu again then go to the I/O tests and scroll down until you get to "auto config netplex devices."  go into there and scroll down to the bill acceptor and see if it's showing as installed.  even if it is installed you could try to make it config again and it might start working but it's a long shot; there's many more reasons that a bill acceptor doesn't work. 

in case you didn't already know: after you hit the white button and see "accounting" on the display you use the change and cashout switch to cycle the menu up and down, the spin switch is your "enter" button and the max bet is "exit."  good luck!!

He can use the I/O tests to also test the BV.
When you insert a bill in that mode the VFD will display the the Denomination of the bill and bill will be returned/rejected.
IF you open the BV door the machine will give you an open to stack or return the bill, that is if you have not bypassed the BV door switch.

sorry a little green to this, how do i get the software version and acceptor model number. some of the displays have zero and ones? what does that mean? i am trying the suggestions see what happens. thanks all  on the message screen it reads upright zero slant one, what does that mean.

ok on my 2 5 2 5 way machine i tried all of the sugestions none of them worked  so i woke up about 2 in the morning thinking about the bill drop box i pulled it out reinserted it closed the door and the bill validator came on put a 100 dollar bill it it took it gave me the credits machine is working fine now  so if the display says insert coin or dollar try remove and replacing the drop box  thanks for the help

How do you guys know it's the camera?!   Maybe he took the pictures during an earthquake? That would explain things. First the slot shook, and then it ended up on its side with the cash box door jarred open and the cash can out of place.
