I have tried to use reset chips on my bally 5500 and still get a error code 80, is a 80 error caused by the game software or the board software?  Help they are 960000 mains

I got the same thing last week. After many testings it turned out to be a corrupt U 18 or U 20.

It could be your clear chips as well.

I'd try a full Saferam clear first. If that doesn't solve the problem, I'd swap out the Mains with known good chips. If that doesn't solve it, then I'd try swapping the MPU board.

I took the personality chips out and put them on a another good board with good mains same problem 80, put a different personality chip set in original board and worked fine. So it leads me to believe the personality chips are corrupt.
