I just got a bunch of token that I would like to run in my S model slot.  I have been running quarters in it so I assume it has a quarter coin head in it.  If I try the tokens they get stuck.  The  tokens are .984 diameter a quarter is .952.   What size coin head is needed or do the jump up to dollar and I would likely have trouble?   I know I could file but I don't want to.  I would like to keep the quarter coin head in top shape for future use.

If you look at the back of the coin head there is a tail that comes down a little bit with a number on it. I have attached a crappy picture of a number 11 with a 984 in it so it will go through but just a little more snug than a 12 which a number 12 is for a quarter .. so a 984 will go through a 11 and 12. Can you look to see what number is on your coin head?

I've run into that a couple times. If you take the back plate off the coin head a dremel tool will fix your problem quickly. Last one I did turned a nickle head into a quarter head.

There is no tail on this coin head.  Its flush all the way across the bottom.

no it is an upright S model, not an S+  do the S and S+ use the same coin head back plate?   Is an 11 for nickels if 12 is the correct quarter one?

Here it is with the token stuck.  The second shot shows the missing tail and you can see the gap between coin head and comp.  I am guessing that the missing tail is why this machine will sometimes jam quarters if you put them in to fast.

I believe your entry is smaller since a quater or #12 entry head will work for both a quarter or 984 token.

In the picture I posted earlier a 984 goes through a #11 which has a smaller width than a #12.

In the S model they used a spacer plate like in the large coin S+ model that has a small guide (tail).

#15 is correct for .984 token, well the midwest casinos used 15's for their tokens in the early 90's and were a touch thicker than a jap token
