slots in Ohio

As some of you may know casinos will be comeing to Ohio next year. Just wondering if anbody knows what effect this will have as far as home ownership and sales of slotmachines in Ohio. I guess my real question is should I be buying as many as I can before new laws go into effect.

Shouldn't you be buying as many as you can anyway Unless someone intoduces legislation to change the existing law on the books, there shouldn't be any kind of retroactive change to the current legalities involving ownership.

OK, Dumb question  If slots are not legal in Ohio why are soo many of our vendors and suppliers from Ohio?? never really questioned or looked into that since I do not live in Ohio.

Slot ARE legal in Ohio, I think Brianfink is worried that when casinos come home ownership laws will change.

Minninsota(Indian) and Nevada have casinos and both are legal for home ownership so I don't see why Ohio would change their laws.

I think the OHIO thing is solved and cleared up--Legal state.

That depends on how the political winds blow. In California there are Indian Casinos and they enforce their 25-year rule to no end!
Seems the casino lobby doesn't want any slots but those in their buildings.

Calif.  Sucks in my opinion.   I base this on as I have been there many times and recently.  Unfourt.  a lot of s**t pops up over there.  No surprise on that thou---Billions of dollars and regulations in that state --Better watch out running that water hose,  Rules , rules ,rules.  Perhaps some may change since the "terminator" is out a there?---Nah  --Too much money to be made.   It's good for people that like living in boxed in areas and being harped on with rules/reg. and pay big dollar for where thier location is.  Just a small rant on Calif.-----Sorry----B.

I suspect the manufacturers are behind no new machine laws, look at Colorado 1983 and older are allowed.
Why would a state pick pre 1984 otherwise?

I heard that the laws could change because the Ohio Casino Control Commission may either impose a law like CT or a 25 yr rule. We really need someone from OH who is really in the know to comment on this, someone who has access to better "information" if you know what I mean.............

Royally screwed themselves because they cannot make any revenue from state taxes on sales.

As Cowboy games said, they'd have to change the laws, and laws don't change overnight.  Even after a law change is approved, it generally takes a while before it's actually put into law, so even if there's a bad change, you'd still have time to buy more machines before the laws actually change.
