Well, I got back Sunday from a 4 day trip to Vegas and other than the chance at visiting the NLG Command Center, I was a little disappointed. The crowding of the Strip shocked me, there were seven uncompleted high rises in the area between Bellagio and Monte Carlo alone as well as add on buildings for Caesars and Planet Hollywood. What I remember on my last visit 7 years ago about each casino having its own charm and ambience has turned into a crowded mish mash of buildings hissy fit. I see no sense in architecture of Caesars, Paris or Venentian because you can't SEE it! The buildinggs under construction are a combination of casino/resorts like the FountainBlue and Cosmopolitan and condo timeshares, and the funny thing is all the construction has stopped due to the current economic problems! Disappointment extended to the casino floors due to several casinos leasing out booth space for their own condo timeshares or Tahitian Village so now you get hawked by these people outside and inside the casino every time you walk by, a real downer!!! Duh!

While I walked through the 11 casinos that we visited, I noticed that they all had alot of the older I Game Plus titles and also found a smattering of Vision games here and there as well as a few banks of Mata Hari and Ms LGM. The biggest surprise was in NewYork, New York where I found 75 standard (non-NXT) WMS 550's and about 20 slant top original Gamemakers on the floor. I got to finally play the Star Trek video slot, that was fun! yes I was surprised that EBAY slots did not have any following and could not find any Indiana Jones video banks anywhere. We saw the Penn & Teller show at the Rio and that was GREAT!! applause I highly recommend it. Also the Show in the Sky performance is also very entertaining and FREE since its on the casino floor! The tables seemed to be running better than slots in most of the casinos we were in.
I saw some different Vision titles and the color WMS dotmation machines and took some pics. I posted Pics of the Command Center visit on the Gallery.

On the B Bird Dotmations, they actually put a plastic sheet on the LCD with dots to make it look like a old dotmation, I just peeled one off

Dan,  Thanks for the post and pics-cool.  The casinos I visit have nothing but more modern slots for sure.  Any theme/title the heart could think of.  NONE of them have the old s+ or "old" games unless you travel to some indian casinos then anything goes at those and may be found there.  The casinos I travel to as far as games goes does way better with slots v.s. table games.  Also the entertainment and accomaditions there are tottaly first-class.  I have been to a bunch as well as atlanic city but the casinos I prefer are in the Biloxi/Gulfport/Bay St. Louis areas..  Those here that have been must have enjoyed and had a good experience.  Southern hospitality,GREAT games and excellent food and entertainment from the worlds best entertainers.  Just my opinion however but highly reccomend you make a trip.  These are all spaced out and not "jammed" up with hookers,crack-heads etc.  -Nice atmosphere-My experience.  Thanks B.  Aprox 32 to pick from (including northern indian casinos).

There are still some S+ machines on the floor in downtown Las Vegas.  Fitzgeralds and El Cortez have some for sure.  The California casino even has some old coin-in coin-out video poker games (they don't hold credits -- if you get a pair of jacks, it spits your wager back out at you).  Las Vegas Club still had a bank of six WMS 400 Dotmation games.

As a note a Bunch of the machines from katrina made it just fine.  As far as the waves /surge it was 30 PLUS ft!.  But for the most part all machines are new there as well as the casinos- They are pretty nice and ritzy. Thanks B.
