I have had run into a few bumps in the road when I have backed up some of my games that are on CF cards.  I often get the error that there is not enough space on the card, however, there indeed is.  Also, the cards are San Disk.  Any help out there is greatly appreciated.  The only solution I have found is finding people who are willing to part ways with CF cards that have come out of working games, but are not matched etc...  I have used Self Image, Win image, and recovery mananger to no avail...  Sorry the pics are so big, i'm a noob on that stuff.

I'm pretty sure that some of the memory in your card is bad.
That's what the cyclic redundancy error is about.

Try another card reader and if you get the same result then you definately have a bad card.

There are a ton of knockoff "SanDisk" CF cards on the market.  I'm not saying that this is the case with yours for sure, but the fake cards won't have the exact same properties as the genuine cards, causing things that are finicky (like slot software) to not work properly.

Here's some reading:

I ran into this problem when backing up my Vision CF cards.
I thought I had "fake" knock-offs too and read all that stuff on San Disks -
when in fact I didn't - my cards were authentic.

What I did was re-format the blank card so the data would fit.
Formatting wiped out everything on the blanks
and the card would would go back to being "big" enough again.
