Hello All

Have just recieved some goodies from Malaysia which I ordered to have another go at the Freeplay project.
The original project thread is here - http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=7238.30

The orignal Freeply project worked OK but was not so easy to DIY due to a number of factors so I stopped doing any work on it.

A few months ago I spotted this on EBAY and it looked like a nice little module to use for the project - All that was needed extra was the interface transistors.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/iCP07-iBoard-Tiny-Microchip-8pin-PIC12F675-IO-Board-/280750831338?_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D4%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D4375088319809379449

About a month later they added a new board to their product lineup which has transistors onboard making it an ideal little platform for the product.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/iCP07A-iBoard-Tiny-Extensions-Microchip-8pin-PIC12F675-IO-Board-/280777542686?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item415fa54c1e

I ordered one of each and they arrived today - Pictured with version 1 and 2 of the Freeply board.

Will keep You posted as the project progreses.

Ian

Hello All

Is there any interest from fellow NLG'rs to do their own freeplay coding or would You prefer a pre programmed board?
If anybody is interested will post all the details on how to code and program the project

I have contacted the seller of this board and he is willing to progam the chips at no extra cost. You will still need to build your own harness to interface to your machine but this should not be a major expense so for under $20 you have a simple sollution of adding credits to your machine. No more Bv's and coin comparators and optics to worry about.

Hi,

New to group, lovin' so far.

Would be very interested in pre-programmed. Cost no object.

Maybe use DIP switches to control amount of credits per trigger?
I just purchased 2 slots, 1 would work well with 100 credits added, while the other
would work best with 3000. (3-nickel vs. 90 penny per spin)
So maybe a range from 1 to 100000?

Love the thread, please continue.

Assume these are both IGT S2000?

My code works on the S+ and PE+. I dont have a S2000/IGame to test this on but if You or anybody else is up for the challenge and spending a few bucks extra for the programmer and making up the harness  then I can send You the hex file to program into the PIC to test.

No its a standalone device that send the same pulses to the processor board as would be coming from a normal coin comparator assembly. I found he best way to trigger it is to connect it to the change button.

However to update the program for different machines requires a USB programmer and sw on the PC to send the new program to the microcontroller.

After reading more of this site, I learned that S2000 machines software can do "Tokenization".
This will allow me to add any number of credits per coin(token), and payout a seperate denomination value.
In short, this easily solves my problem.
S2000 rules!

Thanks anyways,

Hi there,

Any chance this will work on an Aristocrat?
Has a Conder Plus coin mech.
If so would be very keen on a frreplay option.

cheers,

Should be do-able. Assuming its for the MK6 as per your profile pic ? Will have a look at the schematics.

Hi

I dont supply them pre made as its not economical to do so from South Africa and home ownership here is illegal so I dont have machines to test on (And doing so at work will probably get me into trouble). If You are up for it and know which end of a soldering iron to hold You can DIY. The board I use is available on EBAY and You can get a programmer for the microcontroller form the same supplier. I can develope the code this side and You can program / test on Your side.

Sounds great, can you let me know the details please.
Here in AU we are not allowed home ownership either.
There must be thousands that are out  there now days  Smiley
cheers,

It looks like the MK6 does not have any coin optics /board so everything must be coming from the comparator - What type of coin acceptor does your machines have?

Hi

The circuit board is available on ebay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/iCP07A-iBoard-Tiny-Extensions-Microchip-8pin-PIC12F675-IO-Board-/280765898155?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item415ef39dab

You will also need a device to program code to the board - If You already have a EPROM programmer You may be able to use it. Otherwise You can get a cheap programmer from the same supplier
http://www.ebay.com/itm/iCP01-USB-Microchip-ICSP-PIC-Programmer-PIC10F-PIC12F-PIC16F-PIC18F-dsPIC30-/270983597355?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f17e18d2b

Or You can order from their website - www.piccircuit.com.

Hey guys...

I have something very similar.. Already ready to go.. For the Bally s S6000 and IGT S2000 (actually same board just with different programming)  I will post a video on it soon.. This is a cool project I have been working on for a while.. If you have a home machine but you cant have it accept money by law.. You will like what I have..

Options.. Any amount of credits you like.. (Fast)
Upon cash out will silence bell and trigger Key Switch for you.. This way you can eliminate hopper all together..
Use Change button to enter credits, or additional button of your choice..

I Have 100 Boards coming that are getting custom printed with my design.. I hope to see them this week.. I am working on a personal project with them at the moment.. Came across this post.. and thought I would mention it.. I have had them for the bally's S6000 for 2 years now.. no one seemed interested so I didn't bother to keep mentioning it on here.. I now have a new board with both bally's and IGT all in one.. (different program for each of course )

Thanks Steve

Hi Steve

Are You referring to this -http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=13676.0 or is what You are offering just the main board minus the keypad/LCD/CR boards.
What kind of cost are NLG members looking at and will it have harnesses already made for each machine ?
Will it be possible to add S+ , PE+ functionality as well (Should also be a case of simply changing the program)
Something I have considered yet but not implemented for mine is using a jumper to select the correct sequence for a variety of platforms

I wish I could offer fully built units to the NLG community but its not viable doing so from South Africa so its great to see some alternatives in place.

Hey Ian,

Sorry it posted that last message for some reason without me asking it to.. ADMIN NOTE: I removed that Premature Post! HA HA!!! bust gut laughing CH CaptainHappy

The New unit I have should be compatible with just about any machine out there that accepts coins.. or at least did at one time.. I only Have Bally's S6000 and IGT S2000 Machines at the moment.. I did have a look at the S-Plus platform and it was very similar to the S2000.. A quick program change and it should work fine.. I no longer offer the VFD Control.. It was a cool thought at the time, but there was no interest..

I honestly think its a pain dealing with coins and bills, everyone who wants a machine for home use always insists on the "Real Deal".. Bills, hopper, and coins.. Well they realize that it is a pain in the butt after about a week.. and then I get the phone call.. "Is there a way to play this machine without having to put coins in it all the time?"

So the new unit works in many ways..
It takes a little bit to install if you want all features to work.. if you just want to add credits then you just plug it in.. I have all the harness that I make. They Just plug right in to the factory coin gear plug. Some additional wires would be ran if you wanted it to mute bell and auto turn key.. This way it is easy to cash out.. Change settings to all cash out hand pay and your done.. I have a dial on the board that you can select how many credit per push...

This had been an on going project.. I will post a video when I receive  the new boards..  I just wish I could get the tokenization to work on Bally's 6000 (Tried everything).. But I can rapid fire credits in them pretty fast anyways...
