I need some help,
I purchased one of the 3-reel, 3-coin Phantom of the opera.
I have a S2000 with the 1270 board. I know the SS 8189 or 8188 will work on a S+ Phantom of The Opera machine. I.G.T. did not make a 3-coin SB Chip.for the Phantom.

Has anyone gotten a type 23 SS to work on a S2000. This topic may have come up before but lets try it again.
If not I may have to return the kit. My luck. It's a beautiful kit.
thanks,
R.

I have the same kit.. Mine has the SS8188 chip and I have an SB001000 chip. I have not put the kit in yet,it's going to be an Xmas gift surprise for the wife.. I'm not sure what I want to use for my game chips yet. I'd like to use some 363's I have, but I also have a set of 198's too

I don't think you need SG chips if you use an SB001000 and an SS chip.

Your right I'm not thinking straight tonight. The SS8188 is only I think a payout percent of  88 or 89%. I want to get something with a higher payout % if possible.

Bunker your absolutely correct, you don't need SG chips unless you want the machine to work. If you do I suggest installing a set of SGs

I have tried every combination of SB001000 and SS chips to get this game to work. No luck. Game type 23 does not work in a S2000 with a sb001000.I have tried SG00363, and 598 no luck. And I am sure we have been here before trying to get this to work with no luck!! Scratch Head

Weird.  Does IGT even list this game config on their site?  Wonder if it was a scrapped project.  POTO was created during the S2000 era...strange that there isn't an SB available.

There are 4 or 5  versions of the 2cm S2000 chips out there, But no 3cm? And the glass is real !! They did come out with Double Dollars w/mystery action in a 3cm s2000 which is the same payout but I have no chip info or listings on that one.

I have played my Triple Dollar with MRA on my S2000 using the SS chip
I cant re test because I cant locate the chip I used to play it. I had to copy it to a faster SS chip.
reemember not every SS chip IGT made was on  a 120ns or faster OTP 27C64
Also you do not use an offset for a SS chip for a S2000 when using a 512 size chip.

I would take Coorslight  advice & try your Phantom before Christmas, to see if your chip works?

Please get back with us & let us know the results.
This game may only work on a S+ Platform.
What a Bummer. My Glass is Mint & I don't have a S+.
I hate to send it back to Ben.

The fun is the Sound Sims working.

I have only see a listing for Phantom Of The Opera for S2000 as 2 coin. Never as 3 coin. Not that it helps, but the 2 coin SB chip numbers are SB100005 and SB100140. I just thought that it would be good to have the information posted here. I am hoping that I am wrong about there not being a 3 coin SB???

Out of curiosoty, what are the IGT part numbers on the glass? I guess the reel strip part numbers could be documented here as well.  It will be an 8 digit number somewhere on the very edge.

It does have neat sounds, would be a waste on a S+ platform. I borrowed this clip from Youtube that Bettor Slots posted. PS. did anyone else catch the coin jam in the video wave?

I'll pull the glass kit out tonight when I get home from work and look to see if I can find any numbers on it.. This is not good news for me and my Christmas suprise gift I'm guessing at this point, unless I can come up with a new 2cm top glass for my round top kit and a new SB chip in time, and hopefully the reel strips are the same?
