I've noticed that I pay more attention to all the little things like dust on the reels  frying pan frying pan frying pan

It's not even that big of a deal at all - especially when I go to the casinos and see how some of those reels are hacked up!  Bart Terminator/BORG Bart Terminator/BORG Bart Terminator/BORG

The one thing I do is run the quarters thru a shell polisher to clean them before I put them into the machine.

It has nothing to do with maintenance on the machine, just keeps the coins clean so fingers don't turn black when feeding them into the machine & I hardly ever do that, I usually add credits with bills & play, it is the people who come by that like to make it pay out & feed them back in.

It's nice that all the quarters are clean & shiny when it pays out.

Like anything else in life- like your human body. Keep it clean. Dust free - kids free if possible. On any glass or touch screens isopropyl alcohol. NO AMONIA! Weekly open door or lid -slant top etc check for vibration spots ? Check if using coin in. That no coins have missed hopper + are sitting on power supply or motherboard. Also "BIG" PROBLEM ON COIN MACHINES. The amount of metal dust built up around magnetic areas inside slot.  This can burn mother boards up in seconds. Any loose screws on door hinges. Bulbs out- reel strips all in grooves. Scotch tape the ends together on worn ones  Etc etc. Just treat it like your 16 + its your first car that's a clunker. That you want to make it look good etc

According to the slot manuals, regular preventative maintenance is suggested and includes dusting, vacuuming, cleaning BV, coin optics, etc.  I did all of this when I first got the machine and I haven't had to do it since (4 months later).  It seems the closed door keeps dirt out and we're not pulling FULL cash cans every day like casinos do.  I keep rotating the same few bills, so the machine will take forever to truly require another cleaning of that intensity.  Like a previous post, for me, I would be afraid of damaging the machine more than helping the cleaning I might do.  Beyond dusting the outside and cleaning the screen and buttons, I'm thinking maybe annually for the inside?  I haven't had a machine for a year yet, so I'll post again next January!   Tongue Out
