I have a Williams dotmation Jackpot Stampede Deluxe which seems to be working fine. However, parts of the dotmation display are now unreadable. Also, the 5 power led's on the IO board are all lit up (the left side fail led is NOT lit up). What seems to be my problem? All suggestions are appreciated.

All 5 LED's should be lit up... the DOT FAIL LED should not be lit up... so everything on that end is fine.   Take a pic of the dot display and post it.  it could be that a few rows of pixels are out.   I have a few extra dot displays available If that's the case.  Good luck, Bill

That was my initial thought when I read the post.

Sleepez: I've had the pleasure of meeting Bill and buying some items from him -- he's a great guy to work with and will take care of you if you need a new display.   yes

I only speak the truth, Bill.  yes

Glad to hear you kept a Dotmation machine.  Despite not playing it often, I don't think I could part with mine.  no

Thanks for the rapid response. I was under the impression that the led's only lit up when there was a problem.  I am a newbie and am glad I was wrong.  I will post pictures of the dotmation display as soon as I get the opportunity. I will be happy if it is only a matter of a few rows of pixels out. Thanks again and look for my pictures later this weekend

Ps- stupid question but how do I enable the option to add attachments such as pictures?

Just press the blue reply button under this post rather than using the quick reply box.

Right below the text area on the full reply page is a place to attach pictures.

Sorry if this is repeated but I was having trouble posting a photo. Hopefully I have done it correctly and you can see that there are missing parts to the lettering on the display. Thanks for your help

WOW, That's interesting.
Obviously the power supply is good.
When you loose contacts on the dotmation screen entire lines or columns go out.
Yours does not show this patten.
At this point I would suspect data error on the eprom chips in the top box

However I have never seen corrupt data on the top box.

I'd have to agree with Neon... outside of possibly  checking the ribbon cable on the back of the display ( which I doubt).... perhaps replace the 3 top box chips.....Weird;   I've never seen anything like your pic before though   ..... Scratch Head Scratch Head   Bill

I agree with Pete. The display is losing its gas and is failing. It really can't be repaired, but can be easily replaced.
