I drop a quarter into the slot and it just goes to the hopper and no credit is added to the display. Any ideas? I recently installed a new battery and used a set chip to set it back up for .25 and also enabled the BV already.

Thanks,

David

Do you know if the test/pseudo coin button works on the optics.

it is on the optics lower left
press and watch your coin played display
pseudo coin button only works with door open (closed you cant normally get to it) if you can it will cause a 21 coin in/jam tilt

Also it has been a while since I have tested this on a S+ (I know it causes a coin tilt on the S2000)
with door open carefully put something between the coin rake and the comparator so coin will fall through the optics
drop a coin you should get a 21 tilt on the machine.

Next try doing coin in optic tests.
You have to test all three optics drop a coin through for each test.
also you can use a hobby/popsicle stick to block the optics (remove coin comparator to gain access)

the test button on the coin optics does register coins when the door is open and can spin reels as well. How do I do a coin in optic test?

You have 3 optics to test
each will show a 1 until you block that optic with something, why I suggested the hobby or popsicle stick.

IF you dont have the PSR for your machine here is the SP1271

Read up on the input tests
Each optic is tested separately they should cycle between 1 and 0, 1 unblocked and 0 blocked.

The plastic insert in the optics assembly may not be the right one for quarters. If it's a large coin insert then the quarters could fall through without being pushed into the path of the optics.

When you're out of Quarters, You're done.

Maybe don't over think this. I have 2 S+ and I have had to (for no reason) put a different quarter in the comparitor after it's been working for several months.
