I swapped the #3 reel and the problem still existed, code 43.  I put the original reel back in and it happens intermittently, but noticed it is when it hit the play 3 credits button.  When I hit the individual credit button and hit spin wheel  button or pull the handle, usually not a problem?  Machine has not been used in 4-6 months, but never had a problem before.  Any suggestions?

Hi g8trmanjek  wave  & Welcome to  nlg

If you're still getting the Reel Tilt even after switching the reels then the next suspect
would be the wiring. You'll see the wiring runs from the plug under the reel down to
the motherboard behind the hopper.

You're on the right track in tracking the problem down. 1st thing is swap out reels.
Your reels may say 1, 2, 3 on them but they are all the same. Switch them around
to see if the reel tilt follows then you know its the reel.

If the tilt stays then check out your plug(s). Try some contact cleaner. Sometimes the
contacts will "burn" to the pin which may be why the problems seems less on the original
reel. Look at the plug and see if you can see any burn. Regardless, a little contact cleaner
certainly won't hurt. If you don't have any on hand then you can simply try plugging &
unplugging several times to try to make a better contact.

The 3 credits button has no correlation to a Reel Tilt...that I know of. It's certainly possible
the error could be coming from elsewhere ie motherboard, main board, chips, wire, etc but
it is most likely the reel or the plug/harness.

Perhaps another Member may chime in if I've missed something.

Good Luck & Happy Gaming!

Might try reseating the MPU too (with power off).

Do you get the tilt immediately or after the reel is spinning? Does the reel appear to spin normally or slower than expected?

I will check the reel connector at the motherboard and spray some contact cleaner in the reel plug connectors.  I appreciate your help and will let you know if this works.

make sure the reel is not rubbing on something.  It doesn't take much to resistance to give you a reel tilt.

Don't see where it is rubbing?  It moves very slow...I think backwards and then forwards.

So far, it has not done it today.

There is a stepper driver chip on the MPU sometimes goes bad. There is one for each reel. If that is the case, you can use one of the 'spares'. Need to be handy with a soldering iron though.

Be sure to re-seat the MPU though.
