Hello,
I think your post would be better in the "Mikohn Progressive Systems" section.
To get help you should specify the model of the machine.
Is it a Mikohn Cham II or II+ (standalone), in this case the only way to get a text message is using the JPOT.DO file on PSP.

Agreed.  I've moved the topic to the Mikohn section (previosly posted in Classifieds).   propeller

In order for us to help you get it working, please tell us what kind of machine you have the progressive attached to, and what the relevent settings on your machine are set to.

As far as getting a text message to display, we need to know what kind of progressive meter it is.  Let's tackle that after we get the progressive meter incrementing correctly, though.

Is it a ChamII or a ChamII+?  I'm under the impression that if isn't not a "+" model that it won't function as a stand-alone progressive meter.

Based on the limited information you've given us, I'm assuming that you have installed this into a machine that didn't originally have a progressive meter.  Do any labels on the boards or chips indicate that it's a stand alone meter (perhaps the word "STAND" or the letters "SA" somewhere)  Have you installed communications cabling between the motherboard of the machine and the meter?  Have you adjusted any settings on the machine to tell it you have a progressive meter?

Please give us as much information as you can.  The more you can tell us about your setup, the more we'll be able to help you.  Treat us like we know nothing about your machine and what you're trying to do, because right now we're a little blindfolded.

More info, please  More info, please  More info, please

Check to see if the machine has a jackpot relay installed on the backboard and the progressive wiring plug is installed correctly it needs the relay to count up. see picture

Setup the PSP exactly as shown, except change you Base amount and current JP to what you want

The issue is the JPlimit.
Set this to 99999999999 (or as many 9's as it will let you).
Basically the JP limit is the highest value you can increment too.

From the screen shot you have your current jackpot at 10,000 and also your JP limit.
Since your current is the limit it won't ever increment any higher.

Jay- I agree that the limit needs to be set, but the screenshot above is from a member trying to help the original poster by showing example settings -- it's not a screenshot of the actual settings as configured by the original poster.   propeller

I dont have an 83-9 code, how did you reset the credits ?  you should have just played it down or cashed out before making any changes.

Have you set the denomination in the PSP settings ?
Assuming your increment amount is 0.10 as shown above and your denomination is 0.25 (25c)
0.10 x 0.25 = 0.0025. You need to play 4quarters to increase by 1C increment.
Also you can set PSP so that your display represents coins or $
Dont forget to hit the send key after making changes....

I set my PSP increment to to 0.45, 0.04 makes it go up 1c for each quarter deposited. The .045 was just to be quirky.

Also somewhere in this thread you said you didn't have your relay setup. Its the closing of the contact that causes the Mikon to increment.
If you very quickly short/unshort the coin in & grd wires you can artifically see the meter increment.
This will prove if it is the PSP programming or if its the slot.

Hope this helps.

The above increment show .01 which means for every credit played the progressive display will increase by one cent ($00.01) I have never had to program the denomination and it works great for me. I just keep the psp default denomination at 0000.
