Just got my Bally E-2090 up and running with a lot of help from you guys.  Now I have another minor issue.  The quarters are coming out with a tar substance on them.  I took a look and it appears the center star of the hopper seems to be breaking down.  I am not sure why.  Could it be heat.  The machine has been left on for several days, but does not seem excessively warm.  Is the replacement of the star an easy fix?  Can I get a reference of a source for the part(s)?  Any ideas of the cause?  I guess I will pull the fan and clean it up, just in case.  Thanks again in advance for all the help.

Glad to hear that our members have been helpful to you, they sure a great people!!! Clap Clap Clap

That is the agitator in the hopper that stirs up the coins. I am not familiar with that particular machine, but they are easy to replace in most machines. They do tend to break down over time and cause that problem that you mentioned. I doubt that it is a heat issue in your machine, but cleaning up the fan would not hurt one bit. yes

You may want to contact Barry at foxslots1 on our site as he should be able to take care of you. you can send hime a PM on here, also he has a link to him on the center section of vendors on the home page. He is a great guy to deal with.

I had a similar problem with my IGT S+ turned out it was just my hopper knife.
I pulled it out cleaned it up a bit with paint thinner and paper towel and then took a bit of sand paper to it.
It was good for about a month.

The Hopper star is held in place with 3 phillips screw. The replacement part runs about $12 plus shipping. Once its changed the problems solved, but you might have to clean the coins and hopper...
