hello everybody, i have a igt red white and blue slot machine and i was wondering how do you tell what model of igt slot machine i have so that i can get some answers to some questions i have about my machine...heres a little information on my machine it isnt one that needs a stand because its slanted and the cabinet is pretty big from the floor up and its set to take bills only...like i said i dont know too much about it, also i have a couple of questions like when you reset it with the chips what setting do i set the payout percentage out of the three settings like what percentage pays out more or pays out less also i noticed that once the machine gets close to 1000 dollars in credits or if you hit the jackpot it needs to be reset, so i was wondering if i purchase a printer for it once it gets close to 1000 credits or if it hits the jackpot if i hit the cash out button and print the ticket it wont need to be reset ever right? there is a slot for a printer, also how do i know what printer to purchase and what paper to use...also is there a manual out there for my machine that will give me some information about the machine because i dont know how to open the top area where it displays the winning odds and i know it can be opened to disable the top speakers...once again im sorry for all of the questions, hopefully someone can help me get some answers

That's an s2000 model slant top machine, fortunately you got an easy one to work on. The higher the payback percent setting the better it's gonna pay, although higher settings generally just add more smaller wins, not big ones. As far as a printer for high wins, you can do that or set your credit limit higher so the machine will simply store more credits. I set mine at 5000 credits and let anything over that go to hand pay as turning a key is easier than maintaining a printer. It's all personal preferance on this issue.

I could tell you how to do it on an upright, but I have no experience with slants as far as access to the button on the MPU that you need to push to access menu options. I can tell you that you'll need to clear all credits off the machine to change limits  and make other menu adjustments. Once you access the menus, the panel buttons will allow you to scroll through and make changes to the differant sub items. The panel buttons provide controls as follows

cashout-   scroll up
bet one-  scroll down
spin-   enter
max bet-   back

The menu you're looking for is menu 3.1 called machine options and the sub menu called limits. You can watch the blue VFD display above the button deck to monitor your position in and changes to the menu

I TRIED GETTING TO THAT 3.1 MENU BUT ALL I SAW WAS 7.1 MENU USING MY PROGRAMING SHEET AND CHIPS THAT CAME WITH MY MACHINE. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT CHIPS TO INSTALL ON THE MAIN BOARD AND WHAT BUTTONS TO PRESS SO THAT I CAN GET TO A DIFFERENT PROGRAMING MENU.

Word of advice, let your Wife hold the extra chips you have, and not give them back unless someone on this site recommends you need them.

With NO credits on the machine, open the main door, you will see a small button on the front of the MPU tray. Press this button one time.
press cash out 2 times to Options
press Spin 2 times to 3.1.1
press cash out 3 times to 3.1.4
press spin to go into Limits  ( now set the limits as desired. ) My suggestion is, set credit and Jackpot limits high. if you have a hopper set the limits very low if no hopper set to zero. bill limits at $3000 ( max it will let you set.

The limits are set using the cash out, call and spin buttons. The Max bet button will save the choices you have made.

Do I have you good and confused yet ? I've been that way a long time !!    NLG Welcome NLG Welcome

one last question can i reset my machine with out using the chips? can i reset my machine by pressing the button on the main board housing and using the menu instead of having to change chips over and over again? when do i have to use the chips? i was told if the machine hits the jackpot i have to reset it using the chips...is there another way to reset it without using the chips? i already changed the limits to max...thanks

If it goes to hand pay all you gotta do is turn the key on the right outside of your machine.  You will lose all the credits that you won from the Jack Pot, the machine will think a Attendant stopped by and paid you cash for the WIN.

If the extra chips you have are a Key and Clear, someday you might need the Key chip, the clear is good to have and never use it.

so hand pay is not a setting it just displays it automatically when you win a jackpot...or do you have to set it using the menu?

It's nothing you have to set.  You said you set your limits real high, I don't think it will ever go to a Hand Pay. But I've been wrong before.
